Janet: thanks very much for your story on Honor Flight. My father flew from Asheville NC on June 2, 2007 and had a wonderful time. It was very emotional for him. He was happy to help out as one of the younger veterans (age 82) on the flight. His chapter is one of the first ones formed and he remains an active participant. I hope your story raises the awareness of this organization to help with the race against time.

My husband Richard served both theaters during WW11.
Unfortuatley he passed away at age 58. I have made a donation to Honor Flight Network in his memory.
Keep up the good work so those who gave so much will never be forgotten.

Janet: thanks for the story on Honor Flight. My father Bob Wood lives in Hendersonville NC and went with Jeff Miller, the founder of his local chapter (Honor Air), in June, 2007. He enjoyed the trip as one of the younger vets (age 82), helping his comrades. All of the attention that they received was deeply appreciated. Your story will make others aware of the importance of this race against time.

I want to find out how to help out World War two veterans. My dad died in the war and I want to give money for another to go to the memorial in tribute to him. I watched you and Lester Holt on CBS in Chicago. Thank you fo this news.

My father just took the Honor Flight from Detroit last weekend. It was extremely well planned and the veterans were treated with so much tenderness, kindness and respect. My father says it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and one that brings him to tears when he starts to talk about it. The reception at the airport where the veterans were welcomed on their arrival really warmed his heart to see so many people honoring all of the vets that day. This organization needs money to be able to keep this going. Let's all show our gratitude with $$$.

It is very important to get these Veterans to see their memorial. It has been 60 some years and they are just now getting THANKED! What Brave men! We need more like them to keep us safe! We need "DONATIONS" to keep it going for them. Our HERO'S!

I am a Girl Scout leader in Vandalia, IL. I saw your fabulous story on the news that night and came to tears. I shared this story with my girls and other leaders. We are determined to raise money to send some of our local Veterans to see this. I am glad that you took time to honor this story in the way you did. We only hope that others took it to heart like we have.
