I don't believe race is a factor in this. Income level and whether or not you have health insurance is more likely the reason certain woman are not getting a high level of care regarding heart disease. I'm a 51 year old white woman who has been on blood pressure medication for about 7 years. I work fulltime and always pay my doctor bills. No blood work or any other testing has ever been done. I bet you can guess my income level etc. Say what you will, I won't be convinced it's a color issue. Thanks.

I am a 61 year old ,White women, the plight of the "Black" women in our country is atrocious, and I feel for al the trials and tribulations they have and still are going thru. I was a working, poor ,divorced women, that took care of my 2 children alone. I stood right next to the other women that were in my situation, and even now, since I'm disabled with multiple illnesses, I do not get the care I need from the medical profession because I don't have the money to pay a Doctor to treet me, I only get medicare and medicade, and It's not talked about, but "Just give her drugs and send her home. For 6 years I have been waiting for a doctor to help me with surgury for my degenerative Disc Disease,at least 5 discs are rotten and on the last MRI showed that 2 of the discs are pressing on my spine. I contacted Penn Hospitol in Phila. and asked "A" doctor there to help me, and his response was he can't help me, none of the Dr.s in ( city where I live) can't help me. Then who can, I know that if I had more insurance, there would be Dr.s knocking on my door. So whether Black or White in this instance is not who we are but "Where's the money. So I guess I'll have to sue to get someone to help me, there is no reason why Ihave to use a wheelchair and live in pain 24/7 be on percocete and Morphine for 6 years, It's just, we the other women and I.

Chris you never listen to me now listen up. As Citi Corp just borrowed money from the Middle East other companies will do the same. Then you'll see the Middle East will have alot of shares and loans with one question what the collateral. At some point if this continues most American companies will be owned by the Middle East. Our US Treasury has borrowed and we're still borrowing. Time to bring Alan Greenspan out of retirement when Bush leaves. The Stock Market goes up and down as suckers put their money in only to lose it to he sharks. The White House pushes the lie about how great things are going and some people believe it. This economy will recover when we have honest leaders that US and foreign countries can trust. Right now the US is run by liars and crooks and we see the results.
Chris we will see a recession, I believe it will be in the middle of 2008. Notice how other countries are building friendships and making deals for their countries. Look at Ford who had a settlement only to give 500 dollars towards a new Ford. Question why would someone want to buy a Ford with the problems. What's the settlement if and when it happens again.

I will keep my fingers crossed that I don't end up disabled and suffering in horrible pain, or unable to take care of myself. Hopefully not a debilitating stroke, heart attack, or similar. Just a quick un-costly death!! Unless I find a job with health insurance between now and then. In that case I might partake in some preventive medicine. Like I said in my first message, I don't think this is not a matter of ethnicity.
