Good to hear this new initiative. I am glad to see the videos posted. I really like your style of reporting. You seem like a decent person on and off air. I enjoy your blog and your take on the day's events. You are a brillant writer. Have you ever considered writing a book?

Sorry about the NASCAR thing. I am sure you and dear wife had a wonderful time together. There is no classical music on my IPOD either Brian but I always make time for the annual trip to the opera with my dear husband. He always appreciates it and to be honest one time a year is good for me.

I have to laugh at the seriousness of your report on RV's being the bellweather of the economy, like a
"canary in a coal mine". If our economy is in such straits that "big boy toys" predict its soundness, then it needs a drastic change. The two problems is that the stock market rolls with the slightest of bad news that affects a fraction of national product. (I spilled some motor oil the other day, but keep it quiet lest it cause a increase in the price of a barrel of oil.)
I feel the credit card industry is a "rate boat" that needs overhaul to bring its terms to simplicity for the card holders. They punish the card holders while they have their grips on the sides of the boat and rock heavily from side to side. They extend credit limits beyond what most should have, and then sock it to them when the card holder runs up the amount. Why do they call it "mastercard" when few can master the use of one.
If you do not like my analogies, I am sure others can come up with similar.

Seems to me that maybe a year end program of a compilation of these would be great! I miss the old documentaries that the networks used to do; maybe it's time for everthing old to be new again? Pretty please?

Last night, December 5, near the end of your 5:30-6:00 nightly news broadcast, you had a great piece on obesity of your youth. I am a Family and Consumer Science teacer outside of Topeka, KS. I am just starting my Eating Disorder unit and one of the topics is, of course, Obesity. Many of my students are doing their research project on Obesity of children and teens. Is there any way I can get a print copy of that small story. There were some startling facts given (some which I had lectured about already) some I had not. The report done was excellent, but I would like to have a paper copy of this for my research file for my students to use. Is this possible?

Dear Brian, As tragic as the Omaha shootings are, it seems to me to be equally tragic about the shooter. It is time to look at why these adolescent young men are involved in these activities-Columbine, Va. Tech. etc. There appears to be a pattern of disenfranchised, derpressed and medicated individauls who are consistently responsible for these tragadies. They themselves have lead tragic lives as well. It is well known that the medications perscribed for adolescent depression often have the side effects of suicidal and homocidal ideations. It's time to take a look at this closer. What is going on and what can be done to more closely monitor these medications and treatments for these individuals. It appears to be a clear pattern that needs attention. Thank you.
