Good day from New York. For a second Saturday in a row a "routine" medical procedure involving one of this nation's leaders is making news. A week after president Bush's colonoscopy, vice-president Dick Cheney went briefly under the

CHENEY'S HEALTH

I was very disturbed by the story about the young mother with MS and asthma who is trying, sometimes unsuccessfully, to feed her two children on food stamps. I would very much like to help this mother if I could find out how to get in touch with her. Her story just breaks my heart. The thought of any child in this country going hungry for even one day should be appalling to all Americans. There are too many out there on welfare & food stamps who could get out and get a job, and then maybe we could help more people like this family.

CHENEY'S HEALTH

Food Stamp;

I am wondering if I can help that lady with two children and MS problem, finacially monthly. A little donation wouldn't hurt anyone of us, but can be a big assitance to this mother and her children. I hope it does not have the opposite effect. It will be interesting next week when the meetings take place over the deal and what will be the outcome. Jane Arraf's report on Abu Ghraib and General Petraeus's visit to the region seemed very positive. It was nice to see the General able to walk around and talk amongst the people. Even asking them about the upcoming soccer match that the Iraqi soccer team is playing in for the championship. One hopes the team wins because it would be something good for the civilians instead of always violence. Finally, the story about the gorilla's was nice. I liked it when the baby gorilla saw his reflection in the camera lens. Baby animals are always cute. Thank you for the broadcast Mr. Holt. Peace to all!

CHENEY'S HEALTH

To the folks who put tonight's line up together, not bad folks, please keep em coming. Could it be better if there were more depth to the reports? Such as; is the plan B, the administration is currently orchestrating, of tossing rifles and bullets to the Hatfield and McCoy's, a strategy of wisdom or surrender? Or how about the economy, of Cheshire CT, where this tragedy that befell the Petite family occurred, is generated by the correctional industry and what about the immense strain on local communities trying to reintegrate a population we have warehoused for extended periods. In far too many cases our system has denigrated human dignity rather than rehabilitate and empower through education. Are we creating Frankenstiens rather than Einstiens? The USDA food stamp report is long, long, overdue exposure and hopefully we will see more on this issue and the bigger issue of the root cause's of poverty from the media, the bloggers and the candidates. A hungry child can not understand the complex theorem of NAFTA legislation or the monopolization of the distribution of wealth or a culture that represses and ignores the needs of its own. From a hungry child stomach born's desperate parents. Together, we all can make it better. A thank you to Lester for your faithful dedication to posting when on watch.

CHENEY'S HEALTH

Lester the future US generation will need alot of prayers. I remember when the US gave Iraq weapons and nukes now we're arming the Saudis, India and other Middle Eastern countries. Bush has a sign his his head that reads use me I'm stupid. We arm countries that later turn those same weapons on the US. Now with no UN protection against torture and illegal invasions, it doesn't look good. Maliki wants Petraeus out and now Maliki wants the US to continue the work and pay billions of dollars until the job is completed. Maliki is a Shiite and someone is really giving him a back bone. The US is giving weapons to the Sunnis. This is a civil war and you can never win when you take sides.

As for the media attention on Hillary's cleavage well I notice no one has say anything about the new India President who is a woman. We have serious problems in the US and we need educated honest leadership but all that's seems to be important is talking about Hillary's cleavage. All woman have cleavage and if that's news something is really wrong. All the candidates for President seem to have nothing important to say. Hillary is the only experienced candidate so I guess it's better not to make that headlines.

CHENEY'S HEALTH

You ran a story on food stamps and mentioned a woman named DONNA HARGROVE. Bush while he (Cheney) was undergoing his medical procedure. My comment was not printed. On Saturday, after a longer story about Cheney's procedure, I re-sent my comment. Again, it was not printed. Meanwhile, on 7/21, you posted comments from a viewer in Derry, NH who wrote the following about Pres. Bush's colonoscopy: "Transferring executive authority to Dick Cheney, even temporarily, is meaningless; when Cheney has already been running this country anyway for the last 6 1/2 years." I honestly can't see any difference between this comment (that was posted) and my comment (that was not posted), other than the fact that my comment was a bit tongue-in-cheek. I think you owe your viewers a clarification about exactly what the rules are for posting, since they don't seem to follow any particular line of logical reasoning. Your only stated rules are that comments must be related to the blog, must use appropriate language and may not attack the comments of others. My comment violated none of these rules, yet it was not printed (twice). I am at a loss to understand what the specific criteria are for gaining access to this hallowed space. Any information would be greatly appreicted.
