The Cowherds are a wonderful family, who cherish Leonard Cowherd II's memory. They are a typical and wonderful American family coping with grief, like the more than 4,000 others. I know them and respect them and consider them friends. They are to be admired by everyone. I know I do.

Fallen but not forgotten: 'Letters Home'

I read this entry this morning and was almost speechless, I couldn't think of what to write but I knew I really wanted to write something.

This is a deeply touching story, and what an amazing way to remember our troops and remind people that we are still at war. It's hard to believe how long we've been at war, it often feels to me like it just started. Although I'm sure that's not the case for our military.

May God continue to bless each and every member of our armed forces. I pray every night for their safety and strength.

-Cary

Fallen but not forgotten: 'Letters Home'

God bless us all and for those of us whom has lost love ones in these wars, I will pray and pray for rest and peace for their souls. I lost a best friend in combat over 40 years ago in another far-a-way place: Vietnam. His death changed my life forever. I am proud to have been, and continue to be,associated with our military forces. God Bless them and their families. Hopefully those who lost a friend, son, daughter, spouse or someone close to them will find some peace and comfort in the knowledge that their loved ones gave the most valuable gift one can give to another in service to their country and our way of life.
