Hi Brian,

when you report tonight on Greenspan admitting having something to do in the financial crisis, you should mention that he is married to Andrea Mitchell. Because every time you report on GE you mention that you belong to that company. So you should do in this case.

Also, you should call Barack Obama by his full name "Barack Hussein Obama". Because when on January 20, 2009 - God forbid - Obama is inaugurated, Chief Justice Roberts will have to call Obama's full name as well when he paraphrases what Obama has to repeat: "I Barack Hussein Obama do solemnly swear,...". So you should get accustomed to that name. Everytime a President is inaugurated, his full name is proclaimed. "I George Walker Bush do solemnly swear", or "I William Jefferson Clinton do solemnly swear". Or when Chief Justice Roberts will call that, will you call him a racist too, because he mentioned "Hussein"? By the way, you can't censor that, that is then reality, bitter reality, or will you censor the Chief Justice of Supreme Court. By the way, it will be John Roberts' first inauguration after the death of William Rehnquist in 2005.

Brina after the first interview with McCain/Palin I think Cindy would have been a better choice for VP.

Now to the news of the day. A complaint has been filed aganist RNC for the 150,000 spending spree for the Palin Family. These people even have copies of recipts to what was purchased. Sarah has been billing Alaskan citizens while in office with no problem. She bills the State for living at home. So I guess this is normal for Sarah. Sarah's phase should be spend baby spend taxpayers money.

Alan Greenspan knew of the White House scam to bring down the US Economy and protected only himself and his investments. Now he says it was a mistake ( ya right). On 60 Minutes Greenspan explained how he moved his investments overseas and changed his currency from US dollars, long before the Crash, Why? Greenspan was once honest sold out the American people. Now his wife was in insider with the White House even knowing there were no WMD's and refused to testify at Libby's trial because she would have been exposed for her part. Alot of once honest people caved in as the White House made them an offer they couldn't refuse.

I thought you interview was interesting and was long overdue that you haven't been able to interview Gov. Palin until know. 55 days is a long time to have to wait for access to her. Still the thought that I'm left with is if she's unable to stand on her own two feet to be interviewed by you, she's not ready to stand on her two feet when weight of the country will be on her shoulders.

First, I'd like to say that I am a HUGE fan of Brian Williams! And, I watch his Nightly News program daily. I can't tell you enough how disappointed I was, and many other viewers based on the Blog Comments I've read, in the 'interview' he conducted with McCain and Palin. While he led into the segment talking about the issue with her $150K clothing allowance, how she might be hurting the Republican ticket, and Powell's endorsement, he did not do anything to adequately address either Mccain or Palin's responses during the interview itself. Instead of "interviewing" them, they were allowed three days of free air time to go before the American people and bash Obama. Brian's job as the interviewer was to be balanced and nonbiased and to hold them accountable for responses that were questionable or already proven to be outright lies.
While he was not biased, he did absolutely nothing in questioning some of their responses or lack thereof:
(1). Palin's refusal to release her medical records - Failure to point out that all of the other candidates,both past and present have submitted their medical records (2) Asking why is it acceptable for the RNC to spend $150k on her wardrobe whey they are touting that they are for 'Joe the Plumber' and can relate when we all know 'Joe' doesn't shop at Saks. (3) Calling McCain on the fact that recent polls from the American people (not his supporters and campaign handlers) feel HE is the one running the most negative campaign - ever - than Obama? (4) The fact that Palin wasn't asked to clarify her answer on what she considered was a 'precondition'. (5) Calling McCain on the fact that he was speaking against Joe Biden on the same thing that Joe Liberman said, and not just accepting some lame excuse for it. McCain just brushed off the fact that JL said the same thing and went back to trashing Obama (6) To some, it appeared that Palin had some sort of listening device in her ear at 6:25 and especially at 7:55 in the video close up feed. Surely thht can't be the case and you all check for those things, right?
I was SO disappointed to that after all of this time of Palin not doing interviews and Brian finally getting that opportunity, he didn't do more with it. While I will continue to watch Brian. I still like him and have agreat deal of respect for him because in the past I've always veiwed him as unbiased, highly professional, honest, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and fair. I WILL NOT, however, watch, anymore of these "interview" segments. I will change the channel because tt's nothing more than a 'Sit Down and Trash Obama' time for free. And with the election being SO pivitol and important right now with the happenings of our society, not to mention a such a short time away, that is grossly unfair to Obama, and to all of the American people.

I would appreciate a detailed explanation of the concerns that I continue to hear regarding Sarah Palin being unsuitable for the Vice Presidency. I understand the issues surrounding Senator McCain’s age and the related likelihood of Palin having to assume the presidency, but she is not in fact running for that position. We’ve had quite a few governors over the years become either President or Vice President. For example, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton were all governors with little more experience in national politics or foreign affairs before running for the top job. I haven’t heard anyone compare Palin’s experiences to any of them … why not?

Your interview last evening with McCain and Palin has to be the low point of your career in the News Business. It was nothing more than a free political add for the Republican ticket.

Where were the questions regarding the robo calls, the muslim allegations, and the total lies that the Republican right wing is using to turn this election around?

Brian, we should all be disgusted by the lies and half truths that the right wing of the Republican party has used in their desperate attempt to catch up with Obama! The job of great journalist is to get the to the truth, and to be able to be strong enough to tell the American people the full story.

As a life long Republican member I a appalled at the Bush approach being taken for yet another election. When will the networks like NBC and Fox recognize their responsibility to be fair and to tell the truth?

Giving the McCain campaign between 20-30 minutes of softball questions in prime time is nothing short giving McCain 30 minutes of prime time advertisning in the last 2 weeks of the campaign for free....He must think this is all a wonderful dream - 20-30 minutes to make his case to America on NBC's dime !!! You should be ashamed of caving in to Republicans who have blamed NBC for being "too leftist".....what a sad comment on an otherwise good show - giving in to Republicans who never have given NBC a fair shake-what kind of example is this for future journalists !! 3 minutes with McCain I understand - and on multiple nights -- we do have an election going on! But, 30 minutes over three nights is appalling --- BTW, you shouldn't give Obama 30 minutes either.....In closing, I am NOT watching Nightly News tonight (Thurs) or tomorrow night at all -- and turned it off last night .... I am very upset over your failing to observe balanced journalism. I'm only one small voice in the wind but I would bet there are lots of others who feel the same way I do. all too often palin never directly answers the questions asked of her. as soon as she begins she turns the conversation around to her usual sound bites. when asked if she was a feminist, she skirted the issue. she has called herself a feminist in the past, but i don't know anyone who would consider someone a feminist who does not believe the right to choose or gay rights. i would like to know if she was wearing an earpiece during you interview? when a closeup could be seen on her right ear, she had no dark spot or hole in her ear. it looked like a solid flesh color. did anyone else see this but me and a few of my friends?

Brian, I am a steady viewer of your newscast and I am usually satisfied by your reporting and the content, but I cannot describe how dismayed I am over the McCain/Palin interviews. It was little more than free air time for them to reiterate the same old tired stuff we have heard over and over. As a reporter, and this being the news, were you not able to probe deeper into these statements? Most of the time you asked a question and sat there silent and expressionless. When someone says something that is not factual or if they hedge around the question, isn't it your job to probe? Just because there are two opposing sides does not mean either side has the right to lie and have it accepted as their legitimate opinion. No one expects or wants Bill Reilly tactics but it would be refreshing to have a bit more oomph in keeping the interviewees on the straight and narrow. If not, at least be honest and admit you are letting them expound without interruption. Sorry to say, I switched to ABC both nights. WS

My husband and I have tuned into NBC with Brian Williams for a long, long time. However, after viewing your interview with John McCain and Governor Palin, we will no longer be apart of your audience. It is obvious to us that you are biased. Your questions were well thought out but reflected your need to surprise and cajol the two candidates. How sad that as a reporter and anchor you feel you have to remain inside a box that you have carefully built to protect your bias. Brian, Trying to interview Governor Palin is a waste of valuable time. She will not answer questions and must have John McCain at her side. Tonight she said she is moving into the White House. VPs. do not live in the white house. How would she be as president if McCain died since she cannot be interviewed without him at her side. When is someone going to ask the question regarding his plan on foreclosed homes ??
McCain said his plan is to purchase the toxic mortgages at full value and then discounting them to the current value for the troubled homeowners, thus benefiting the banks again.
Even if McCain purchased the toxic mortgages at the current value of the homes and then turns around and refy’s the mortgages down to the current values of the homes for these troubled homeowners it will create a disaster.

What about the homeowners that purchased a home in the past 3 ½ years that are not in foreclosure but have mortgages that are higher then the current value of their homes ??

Is McCain going to refy all the mortgages across the country so that every American receives the benefit of gaining back the equity in their homes from a devalued refy ??

I have actually spoken to many people that really think that McCain cares about the middle class and is going to bail them out. Where has all the common sense gone ??

I wish that everyone would take a moment to read everyone ELSE's comments. It's remarkable to me that there are people accusing Brian Williams of being completely biased towards Barack Obama at the exact same time that other so many other people are certain he/NBC is biased towards John McCain. Obviously people see only what they want to see.

A suggestion: let's just watch the interview. I for one, am enjoying it and appreciate the hard work that has gone into bringing it to the newscast.

Obama is not being forthcoming about his and Bill Aires' relationship. Also, I wasn't sure if McCain and Palin were misunderstanding your questions or if they had been able only committ to memory the responses given.

Brain, After watching the first two parts of your interview,and listening to McCain/Palin last week I learned two things. First, from the campaign trail I learned that I am a "real American" because I live in a small town, where real Americans live. From your interview tonight I learned that because I am from NYC (most of my life) I am an elitist. These two individuals are clearly not informed and not prepared to even serve a hamburger at a NYC diner!

I also wanted to add, that although I respect your experience, in this case I have say Brain, where were you when McCain alleges that Obama is lying about Ayers. And thirdly, why is no one commenting that after her poor performance with Katie Curic, Sarah Palin is not allowed to talk to any reporters without "dad" holding her hand to make sure she says it right. Brian, As I watched your interview with Sarah Palin on the news tonight (Oct. 23), I was upset again that she was allowed to give "her answers" to your questions,while not answering your original question. What bothered me the most, however, was that you did not correct her by saying something like: "Governor, I'm sorry, but I asked you ......., not about...." While Palin is the expert at dodging press questions, the other 3 are guilty of doing exactly the same thing from time to time, and the member of the media asking the question allows his/her original question to go unanswered. It really bothered me tonight, because time and again she began to answer the question you put before her, but then she switched over to her own topic. Sadly, you did not say to her that she was not answering your question. Please, help all of us out here watching NBC Nightly News who want to hear answers to the questions and not just what the candidate wants to say. I think I speak for a great many Americans who also would be thrilled to death if you would do this for us.

Regarding your story on Placebos, I am shocked and dismayed by the results of that study, and that your science correspondent completely missed the most important aspect of that information. The substances the doctors are using as "Placebos" are Antibiotics, NSAID's, and Vitamins. I'm sorry, but there's a major problem here. First of all, Antibiotics should NEVER be used as a placebo. When you run the next story on Antibiotic-resistant strains of Bacteria, which is a MAJOR health issue, killing people at an alarming rate, you might refer back to this one. Antibiotics also have one of the highest incidents of negative reactions, with a huge host of side effects. Next, NSAID's have major health risks as well (including, kidney and liver damage, strokes, instestinal bleeding and death...to name a few) and would never be classified as a placebo of any kind. Vitamin pills are the most harmless, but I still don't see how a Doctor can call it a placebo, as it could have an effect on the patient's health. The bottom line is....that study is completely useless for evaluating the Placebo effect, and highlights the fact that MD's are not adhereing to the oath they took to "above all do no harm." Your nightly segments on health continue to be no more than medical propaganda, clearly guided by GM.

I know a LOT of standards have changed over the decades - level of service, quality of goods, etc. It's painfully sad to see the hard-hitting, BALANCED, professionalism that once set the bar for journalists & reporters grow increasingly dim. It's like seeing a piece of the fabric that IS America being bought/sold right alongside all those worthless (counterfeit) financial dealings.

Cox was appointed to warm the seat only the plan was already in place before he got there. Greenspan once an honest man turned to Judas for GREED. What was so strange is Greenspan was looked at to such high esteem now plays dumb and confused. Many people said this was going to happen back in 2001 when the Bush plan took place. It helped with the Republican Congress giving out those blank checks to the White House. There are many people now turning sides as change comes.

I'm lucky I have an honest Doctor and you might ask how do I know he's not giving me placebos. Now how to I know that you might wonder. I don't like pills so we talk about how to stay healthy and sticking to a healthy diet. Yes I go soul food sometimes but I go right back to the healty food. I take the bus so walking is part of my life. Being happy and not being worried helps. Put it out there and force him to address it specifically, rather than keep insinuating something that more than likely does not exist.

I have felt for some time that you err on the side of caution, in an effort to distance yourself from the views of Chris Matthews,Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow. Keith and Rachel are my favorites but I certainly understand that you must (and should) maintain a high level of objectivity, both actual and perceived, but PLEASE don't abandon your usual tenacity in getting to the bottom of things in your interviews... regardless of the person being interviewed. Sadly, I agree with a lot of the criticism of your interview with Palin/McCain. Maybe a lot was edited out, maybe you had to give up on getting answers and needed to move on to other questions. Whatever the reasons, very few questions were met with direct answers. The discussion on terrorists was infuriating. I am no defender of Ayers, but no one, including you Brian, takes the time to correct McCain, Palin and everyone else who misstates what Ayers actually is quoted as saying in the NYT 9/11/2001 article. Tonight McCain said Ayers said "he wished we had bombed more". What he actually said was "I feel we didn't do enough". Many, many people who opposed that war felt people could have..should have..done more. And why doesn't one person ask McCain or Palin what it is they think Obama isn't telling us...what is it they want him to say. He said he knew him, met him...what is it they want?

It is unfortunate it took two months for NBC news to get a chance to do this interview. It is too bad they don't have enough confidence in her ability to go solo.

I missed the first interview day of McCain/Palin but I did watch the excerpt from the second interview where they discussed Obama's "relationship" with Ayers. But no where on that interview did you ask about her and her husband's relationship with the Alaskan Independence Party. Members of this party believes that Alaska should be a country onto itself. In fact, the founder was quoted as saying, "The fires of Hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American Government. . .and I don't want to be buried under their damn flag." Gov. Palin has been to quite a few of their meetings and they even endorsed her for the governorship. I saw the clip that CNN did of her relationship with this party, and I saw with my own two eyes and heard with my ears how she thanked them for their support.

Now I ask you, why would we want someone who wants her state to secede from our great NATION to be a hairsbreadth away from the presidency?

Her continuous attack on Obama's so called relationship with Ayers is a kin to the "pot calling the kettle black." I don't hear her or McCain explaining away her relationship with the AIP. And how can we trust her word about putting "Country First" when she consorts with members of the AIP, whose motto is "Alaska First, Alaska Always!" Ask them to explain that one!

Hi Brian, While I enjoy watching your evening newscasts here in Toronto, I was disappointed last night when you failed to challenge Senator McCain and Governor Palin as they burbled on about
Bill Ayers and other issues.
Why didn't you mention there were Republicans who also sat on that Chicago education committee with Bill Ayers? Does this mean that Republicans also "pal around with terrorists"? As well, what about Senator McCain's relationship with G. Gordon Liddy? What does that relationship say about HIS associations with nefarious criminals?
And then when you asked Governor Palin whether she is a feminist and she refused to answer clearly. Why didn't you remind her that she enthusiastically said 'Yes' to that same question when it was posed by Katie Couric? Why is she flip-flopping?
I feel you also let her off the hook by not asking her about her own abuse of power issues in connection with the Troopergate scandal in Alaska. She has claimed she was vindicated, which simply is not true. And where was a question about her husband's membership in a party that despises the U-S and wants Alaska to secede from America?
Your neighbours to the north are watching the U-S presidential campaign intently, and we're dismayed by the negativity and ugliness introduced by the McCain-Palin ticket. It is the worst of American politics on display. They should have been challenged last night on the misinformation they continue to spread and, sadly,were not.

I watched NBC Nightly News last night, as I always do, and something struck me as odd. There was Former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan admitting mistakes and answering questions during a congressional hearing. I believe Lisa Myers reported.

NBC is always quick to show transparency when reporting on issues related to its parent company General Electric. However, here was the senior investigative correspondent reporting on the financial mess we face with sound bites from Greenspan and nowhere in the story did it mention that Greenspan is married to Andrea Mitchell, one of the most senior correspondents who gets much on-air face time. For transparency NBC should have done that. Let the viewers decide at that point whether Myers’ reporting was unbiased. At least it would be out there.

And I really enjoy Brian Williams, but he soft pedaled and never asked Sarah Palin about her costly makeover. Not many hockey moms can afford shopping sprees like that. The real question is how can she portray herself as a middle-class struggling mom with five children when she goes on a shopping spree like that. And her definition of terrorist needed follow-up but it didn't happen. McCain's friend Gordon Liddy is a convicted felon but is that an issue? It’s outrageous. Williams dropped the ball and we know he can do much better.

I watched the Palin-McCain interview Thursday night and was very disappointed. They were allowed to make false and vague accusations without being challenged. McCain stated that Obama has not explained his relationship with Ayers. Perhaps he wasn't listening in the third debate when Obama described the relationship in detail. If McCain has more information then he should reveal it and let Obama respond. To make vague accusations is a smear tactic. Brian Williams should have challenged him. Good journalist do not sit passively while the interviewee makes untrue statements or vague innuendoes to smear another.

It looks to me like you were not interviewing Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin, no, you were letting them interview you for Press Secretary in a McCain/Palin administration.

To wit. You should have asked Gov. Palin "do you define abortion clinic bombers as domestic terrorists?" one more time, then, when she would again ignore the question and recite anti-Ayers slams on Obama, you should have said "Ok, you won't answer. Moving on."

As to Mr. Ayers and Sen. Obama, since you let Sen. McCain off scot free in accusing Sen. Obama of, well, something. Sen. Obama has identified his relationship to Mr. Ayers and it is not at all anything devious. If Sen. McCain can read, he knows this.

I was both struck -- and disappointed -- by your willingness to accept many of their more problematic answers without challenging them or pressing for follow-up. For example, in response to your question, Ms. Palin refused to characterize herself as a feminist, stating that such labels were inappropriate. Yet you failed to point out that, a few weeks earlier, Ms. Palin had no difficulty in responding in the affirmative to the exact same question when posed by Katie Couric. Similarly, Ms. Palin's answer to your question about preconditions for negotiations with our enemies demonstrated that she did not even know what a precondition was. Despite this obvious opening, you did not ask her to define her understanding of a precondition, nor did you follow up and ask her what preconditions she would impose prior to dealing with someone like the Iranian president. Additionally, Mr. McCain's definition of an "elitist" obviously would have included himself (as someone who lives in Washington, attends Georgetown cocktail parties, owns seven homes and has an extraordinarily wealthy wife), which you also failed to point out. Dear Brian (and other posters on this forum,)

The "exclusive" interviews with Senator McCain and Governor Palin have cost you and NBC a lot of heat. I agree that 30 minutes of free advertising time for their campaign is excessive, but I realise that it is material that, as noted before, is "exclusive". You had face to face time with these individuals that, particularly with Govenor Palin, is extremely rare. As everyone knows, she rarely is allowed to be interviewed, so getting this much usuable footage with them is very valuble as far as drawing viewers to NBC Nightly News.

Keep in mind that NBC is a business. The more viewers it is able to draw, the more money it makes. Having Govenor Palin actually face you, Brian, and have to answer questions, is going to be watched by those both for and against the McCain / Palin ticket. Spending 10 minutes a night over three nights attracts more of that audience and advertisers more often. As they are the "underdogs" and behind the Obama / Biden ticket by an average of 10% in most polls, the notoriety surrounding Govenor Palin, and the hope that she will put her foot in her mouth (surrounded by a piece of her $150,000 wardrobe,)is a guarentee of drawing viewers and increasing NBC Nightly News ratings.

So you have to weigh the "fairness" of this three night Republi-fest and its money making value against the fairness of it. As said, NBC is a "for profit" business, so running this was a good buisiness decision.

As far as "You ought ask them this question tomorrow night...", sorry. The interview was done days ago and is "in the can". Although many of the suggested questions and follow ups are great ones, it's far too late to suggest them now that the candidates and Brian are long seperated. I agree that both Senator McCain and Govenor Palin got a "walk through the tulips" as far as questions and follow ups, keep in mind that they and Brian were surrounded by McCain / Pain minions who could end the interview at anytime. Although tape of Palin walking off in a huff would have been wonderful, with McCain joined at the hip to her, he (as we've seen.) stepped in before she could actually answer anything. She did a fine job of showing how totally clueless she is in spite of McCain taking the reins and steering the "answer" as far from answerng the question and towards trashing Obama / Biden as he could.

So, fine reporting would require offering equal time time to Obama /Biden although from the polls, they won't need it. McCain / Biden did a fine job of showing how out of touch and hateful their campaign is for almost 30 minutes on national television. To sum it up, NBC ought to have devoted the best of the interview on NBC Nightly News and played the rest on MSNBC. But it was great in that instead of gaining votes, McCain Palin shot themselves in the foot (well, feet,) by saying what was wrong with Obama and very little about their ideas. So, it may have helped Obama anyway.

None the less, I'll still watch NBC News for accurate news, and Fox for laughs.

I'd really like to hear McCain's explanation for his campaign promoting the hoax about a McCain volunteer being assaulted by a black Obama supporter. I can't think of any possible motive for the McCain campaign's pushing the hoax other than an incendiary attempt to cause a racist backlash against Obama.

What was desperately missing from the interviews was follow up questions. Russert always had the follow up question to get the interviewee to go beyond the sound bytes. Brian totally lost control of the interview even before it started by accepting that he could not interview Palin, but only NMcCain and Palin. It seems that McCain is still afraid of what Palin will say, though she is pretty consistent about staying to sound bytes.

For example, a question was on her qualifications to be the President. Her answer was given by McCain, not her. When they boasted of her executive experience as governor and how well she did it, Brian could have read the part of the ethics probe report that says she DID violate ethics. That would have been a Russert question. Does a good executive have an ethics problem?

One could go on and on. If the ground rules for an interview are that it has to be powder puff questions, then the reporter should reuse the preconditions and tell us he did so, not cave in.

I am very disappointed in Brian Williams.

Does NBC plan to give Obama/Biden three evenings of unencumbered airtime next week? Remember, your viewers will be expecting you to participate in this next interview (as in the McCain/Palin interview) as more of a decorative prop than as a true journalist. Just lob the softies and then sit back and smile at the answers as you nod understandingly. On second thought, to be in keeping with your journalistic value during the McCain/Palin interview, your presence would not even be required.

I was wondering about the McCain-Palin interview that Mr. Williams did this week on the Nightly News program. I find it interesting that this interview was considered a news program and not a political advertisement. Where was the truth and the validity of reporting? There were multiple times that follow-up questions were needed and they were not asked.
For example:
1. Why didn't Mr. Williams ask either candidate why they are still talking about Mr. Ayers after Mr. McCain claimed in the last debate that he didn't care about Mr. Ayers?
2. Why didn't Mr. Williams point out to Mr. McCain that during the last debate Mr. Obama did explain his relationship to Mr. Ayers? Mr. McCain asked the question of Mr. Obama and got an answer in front of the entire nation. Asked and Answered.
3. Why didn't Mr. Williams ask Ms. Palin why she refused to label herself as a feminist when she very clearly said "Yes" in September when Ms.Couric asked her the same question?
4. Why didn't Mr. Williams ask Ms. Palin about this statement? Palin: "And I think that's what annoys a lot of Americans, especially in a political campaign, is to start trying to label different parts of America different, different backgrounds, different … I'm not going to put a label on myself, " after she has been labeling parts of our country as more American than others?
5. And why didn't Mr. Williams ask Ms. Palin why Mr. Ayers is a terrorist but those who bomb abortion clinics might not be? The label of terrorist does not depend on who you bomb but on the actual act of bombing? I believe if you look up the word terrorist, you will find it to mean "a radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells." It doesn't matter who you're bombing----if you bomb someone/someplace based on political ideas, you are a terrorist. No debate about it.
I will assume that Mr. Williams was constrained by some "rules" by the McCain-Palin campaign, but if that is the case, then the American people need to know that, just like in the presidential and vice presidential debates....we know there are rules, we just want to know what they are.
Please don't try to pass something off as news when it isn't accurate reporting. It may get the people to watch, but you're just spreading misinformation and that's not news.

Mr. Williams,
I am an avid fan of NBC news. I was introduced to the news show by my parents over 40 years ago. Of late, I am very disappointed with the coverage of the election. Just recently, I observed your interview with Palin and McCain and you asked the question about terrorism. Can you do me a favor and ask Mr. Obama that question as he is the one who had a relationship with a terrorist. And make sure to ask him about his other questionable relationships as well. The American public deserve an explanation from Mr. Obama as he has not shown good judgement in choosing his mentors, Frank from Hawaii, Ayers, Wright the pastor and then there's Tony, the Chicago landlord owner. Let's face it Mr. Williams, if these characters were in existence in McCain or Palin's past we'd all hear about it and form our own opinions from it..............allow us to form our opinions and hear Mr. Obama's explanation. You are a news reporter so please report all the news and don't leave things out the American public need to know to make their own decisions. Thank you!

Hi Brian, you are doing good job given that GE CEO was mentioning on PBS on how a big republican he is; it must be hard for anyone in NBC to say the truth and report the stupidity of the the republican ticket. We all understand the pressure that NBC, abc and CBS's employees are feeling by their CEOs and APAC. I feel so bad about americans and america this is not another cycle that we are going through, this is a suicide if we elect mcain and palin. What we are experiencing in america is punishment of what we did in afghanistan, Iraq...we keilled millions of children and women and call it freedom and spread of democraty. Wake up everyone and leave your patriotism and racism aside for now.

Regarding Brian Williams' excellent interview with the Republican candidates, it was bizarre when Sarah Palin was unable to name abortion clinic bombers (such as Timothy McVeigh) domestic terrorists. I understand she opposes a woman's right to terminate a pregnancy, but terrorism is terrorism. The conversation clearly indicates the narrowness of Palin's thinking, as well as a lack of integrity. To his credit, John McCain was able to condemn domestic terrorism of any kind.

I am a faithful viewer and reader of your blog and have to day that you must be doing something right if both sides are claiming favoritism. I couldn’t help but feel embarrassed for Sarah Palin during your recent interview with her. It was frustrating to listen to her recite memorized lines and when she did try and attempt to answer a question, all the vague, rambling explanations. That interview is proof as to how unqualified she is to be a candidate for Vice President. And I just have to say , if I hear the term “maverick” one more time I think I will scream...

For years MSNBC was THE news station that I turned to. Chris Matthews was my favorite. Not anymore. The station is so deep in the tank for Obama that there is little honesty. Keith Olberman was almost funny when he called himself journalist! Not! David Shuster is absolutely repulsive in his vindictiveness towards McCain. And Chris Matthews is no longer objective or fair as he seemed to be at one time. Perhaps he has been told to stay in line like a good little boy. So sorry to see what has happened there but I am finished with MSNBC and have no respect for the station.

So, just a few questions please.
If Sen. McCain at his rally was decent enough to correct the woman that asked if Obama was a Muslim then I should think Obama should ask the two Hollywood guys to take down the effigy of Gov. Palin; it really is offensive no matter who is being hung.

Sen. McCain showed restraint on the issue of Rev. Wright even though Obama relied on that man for twenty years for spiritual guidance then dropped him when it was politically expedient yet we have heard little from this ‘Reverend’ since then. Prejudice is ugly no matter what color.

What I have yet to see in hard figures is exactly how much of Obama’s donations are from individuals, corporations or the government. The cost of the half hour of prime time TV concerns me greatly. Since he has outspent McCain 8-1 shouldn’t he be much higher in the polls than he is now? McCain agreed to public financing, didn’t Obama also?
In the long run, I’ll vote for decency and honesty.

Mr. Williams asked Sen. McClain if he was going to inject any comments about Rev. Jeremiah Wright into the campaign. The news media should be investigating the relationship of Sen. Obama with Rev. Wright for these 20+ years. How can Sen. Obama deny knowing some of these behaviors and remarks of Rev. Wright?

The media have given Sen. Obama a free pass on this issue. The media do not do this when people have associations with organizations like the KKK, white supremists groups, etc. Not investigating Sen. Obama's association with Rev. Wright shows significant bias and inequality.

Years ago, George Wallace and later David Duke were not given free passes regarding their associations with certain not-so-mainstream groups and individuals. Why have you not investigated and reported the truth about what really goes on in Rev. Wright's Church, and how Sen. Obama may have been influenced over these 20+ years.
