Welcome back from vacation, Lester. I hope it was relaxing even as it was a somber time back home. Glad to see you back in the saddle.

My sister says to stop sniffling over airline hikes. She's a frequent flyer, but is willing to pay more for a very basic reason: so far, her pilot husband's job has been spared. I still don't agree, as it just forces more people to not fly, but regardless, his job is OK for a couple of weeks, so they are breathing easier.

The water in the middle of the country is so wasted when we think about the dire drought in the southern part of the country. Maybe someone should send a memo to Mother Nature that she's a little off balance?

I just don't understand how people can think that stealing money is cost effective? I'm on a fixed income, so I feel the pain at the pump, but never will I consider stealing gas a good idea. Stealing anything is not an option for me, so gas would fall into that category. Stealing gas is the height of selfishness: we all suffer when gas is stolen!

Oh I'm aching to eat a tomato again! Roma tomatoes are my favorite. I can't wait to sink my teeth into one again! If only I had place to plant a garden... I could have someone do it for me - I can't grow anything!

I'm thrilled you're back; really missed you on
NBC.

I especially enjoyed the story on June brides
cutting back on expenses. Our daughter
opted for a small wedding and her best friend
gave her a backyard picnic dinner afterwards
with all their friends, half of Grant County
in Williamstown, Ky. It was lots of fun.
Julia Roberts, the movie star, chose to do
the same thing a year or two later.

I'll stay tuned to the unprecedented story
on the Saudi Arabia summit. When my husband
was with General Electric, he and his friend
went to Saudi for about a week.

Nothing good to report the Stock Market is down and the gas prices are sky high. Israel is talking to Hama and other terrorist countries yet testing their weapons just in case they decided bomb Iran. Yes our Law Makers are still stalling the impeachment and total chaos in the Government. Crooks are winning and honest people are losing. Global Warming is now in plan view for even those who refuse to believe. Other countries have moved on and left the US behind. The EU had decided to have trade with Cuba. The Attorney General is working hard to stall any action against the White House and Staff.

*$14,000*??? I was shocked when I heard that total for a "stripped down" wedding, after the couple had substituted cupcakes for a cake, done the invitations themselves and cut the guest list from 200 to 100. Are you sure that isn't a typo????

At first I thought the same thing.

Wedding budgets usually include the rings -- engagement and 2 weddings bands, rehearsal dinner, the dress & suit, flowers, dinner, music and the honeymoon. That being said, I could see $140 pp very quickly.
