Good Evening Ann, It is extremely difficult to move on after passing of Mr.Russert. He was inspiring to everyone who knew him and it only made those around him better people. I know that NBC News will always continue to give the finest broadcasts with the best correspondents giving excellent reports. Nobody is better in my opinion. Looking forward to the broadcast Ann. And Mr.Russert is looking down from heaven saying, "Go,go,go". Peace to you and to all.

It seems to me that Brain set the direction for the News Division yesterday..

Hi Ann Curry, that was a nice tribute you gave Tim Russert, and coming from you it was Extra nice, because you are the Best. I know you will be doing coverage on all the flooding in the Mid-West tonight on the Broadcast. And all the tornados they have had this year is unbelieveable. I hope we don't get hit with alot of Hurricanes here on the East Coast this summer and Fall, it will make gas and food prices go up higher than they already are.

Good Evening Ann, A fine broadcast this evening. First of all the report by Mr.Sanders from the flood ravaged mid-section of our country showed how powerful a river can be. Seeing another levee break and pour more water into a community just creates more disaster for the already flooded areas. I really hope it does recede by Sunday although it would be great if it would recede sooner. The report by Michelle Kosinski at the end of the broadcast was inspiring because of all the people in the community coming together to help out and make tons of sandbags to prevent to water from overflowing. Everyone pitching in to do their part from all walks of life. Truly great to see. On another note the report by Mr.Costello concerning fewer cars on the roa shows how evident this is all over the country. It was nice to have Atlanta mentioned in the report for the Clean Air Campaign. Seeing that Marta bus reminds me how convenient taking Marta trains can be to travel to downtown and the airport. It does save alot of time and gas. I truly hope these gas prices go down for everyones sake. Thank you for the broadcast Ann. I will be looking forward the the "Making A Difference" segment tomorrow about Mr.Russert. I'm sure it will be very moving and touching. Again, thank you for the broadcast. Peace to you and to all!

I missed the broadcast, but I must say I am so glad to see that people are being held accountable for the mortgage meltdown mess. If someone is responsible, I hope they are held responsible for this.

Maybe you should put a big photograph of "Russert's Rainbow" in your New York and Washington offices. It will make you smile and give you hope and a certainty that life continues.

My heart and prayers go out to all of you at NBC and MSNBC. You are simply the best and Tim is guiding you now more than ever. Keith's coverage before the memorial was so touching and the memorial was just beautiful. Outstanding...Tim would be so proud.

I will tell you what Mr Russert would be reporting on that everyone is ignoring

I'm in a swing state of Missouri
I am male
i will not vote for Obama unless he picks Sen. Clinton as his VP....all other choices just can't get the votes she can. I wont vote for McCain but I will either not vote or look for an independant if she isn't picked. I know many people that feel the same way.

Everyone I talk to can't believe the media isn't talking about this trend.

What would Tim do?

He would do as all of you are doing: Mourn the passing of a dear friend and gifted colleague. And he would have honored his colleague as you have done.

And then he would move on to the news of the day.

You have a tough profession. The strength that it takes to stand in front of a camera and speak such sad news about a dear friend is enormous. I applaud you and yours for your strength, and for knowing when it is time to move on to the business of news.

The pain does not go away so quickly, but life and the news moves on.

My condolences to you and you colleagues, as well as the Russert Family. My dad met Tim 2 years ago at the big South Buffalo Picnic at the Blackthorn that Tim attended with Big Russ and dad was quite impressed that Tim spent 15 minutes talking to him-about Tom Friedman's book!
I found it ineresting that Wed. after the memorial service, while "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"(written by Buffalonian Harlod Arlen) played as the crowd dispersed, a big double rainbow stretched across the Washington sky. I think it was Tim letting us know he found his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow-sitting with the Heavenly Father.

You have all been such an example to all of us around the world . . .watching all of you on nbc/msnbc and his family especially Luke rise up to the occasion, doing what you have to do, letting go of Mr. Tim, especially Luke, has given us pause to think of our own lives . ..what we are doing . ..are we doing it with love, compassion, enthusiasm, and holding onto our faith as Tim did. . . Ann, this is for you and all my friends at NBC, It's odd to realize after all these 30 years of watching the news on NBC that not having met even one of you, you are all such an important part of my family and my daily life. I race home to see the nightly news every day. On my days off, its a special treat for me to see the Today show. On Sunday mornings, I would delay my morning run so I could sit with my coffee to watch Meet the Press. I devoured Tim's book on his dad and even wrote to thank him. He expressed my love for my dad so well. It touched me deeply. Tim was like an older brother (I'd never met oddly) to this Irish Catholic product of the nuns and the Jesuits. I really trusted him to get down to the real truth as I trust you all as well. And so it is that I sit here feeling raw from the loss having cried through the services just like one of the family. sigh! I feel the emptiness as well and I turn to my fellow news junkie friends for comfort and understanding. The one cool thing that I've noticed about all this is that this great outpouring of love for Tim is stirring the hearts of so many. It affirms Tim, his values and all he stood for. It affirms the NBC news and its mission to report with truth and accuracy. Although its devastating that Tim is gone, I think his death and the great outpouring of love around the nation has inspired us all to do as he did and to value what he valued. To that effect its a wonderful thing to see the diversity of people and leaders honor Tim and all he stood for. It gives me hope that we aren't so off track after all once we cut through all the varied agendas. In his death he has set the bar and inspired us all to become better people. And to that extent, to quote Tim, What a country! I know we are all better off for knowing him.

Just read you are considering David Gregory to replace Tim Russert. What a joke, did you see him dancing with Karl Rove several months ago at some high level shindig? Can't get that picture out of my mind. And, incidentally, I cannot think of a thoughtful, incisive or difficult question he ever asked of George Bush. I would also object to Andrea Mitchell considering her husband and his politics. She seems to have her own bias.

It is sad that NBC News continues to "use" Tim Russert's untimely death as a vehicle for confusing what NBC News does with what the "news" really is. I don't want my news packaged in glitz and glam. The fewer talking heads, the better. I detest the disingenuous, stage-managed presentation of Beefcake Brian (and his fashion-conscious safari shirt when he's "in the field"). But the absolute worst is Dateline's Keith Morrison, cloned from Lon Chaney and Boris Karloff, a malevolent, creepy, and sinister presence who will probably be revealed one day to be a serial criminal himself. Tim Russert was a mortal god. He was better than all of you put together, which, if you simply acknowledged, might take some of the edge off your morbid, sensational, Hollywood-style treatment of the news. God help me, I'm ready to go back to Katie Couric.

Ann - I have to say that the coverage of Tim Russert's untimely death seemed to last a long time to me - but perhaps that is partly because, like so many, I felt his loss personally although I never met him. Still, his Memorial Service - broadcast on MSNBC on Wed. and again today - was incredibly moving. I had a similar reaction to the Last LEcture of Randy Pausch, the computer imaging professor at Carnegie Mellon who is now fighting pancreatic cancer and who is sharing his courageous battle with the world. Mr. Pausch's lecture has been made available to the public in the form of a DVD, available for a nominal price - I regarded his Last LEcture as a real example for how to live. I have the same feeling about the Memorial Service - it reflected the things about a life that mean something to those we interact with - and teaches similar lessons. It would be wonderful if the Memorial Service could be made available to the public for purchase in a DVD - again at a nominal price.
