Dance fever

By Amy Robach, NBC News Anchor

Thanks for checking in, I'll be sitting in or Lester tonight. We're putting the broadcast together right now, with news and live reports from Washington, to Alaska, to Honduras. But many of us are still smiling about a story you may have seen this morning on TODAY – a large dance party out on the Plaza.

If you missed it, be sure to stay tuned to the end of our program tonight, where you will see the newest Internet phenomenon. What started out as a young couple's wedding video to share with friends and family turned into an international sensation in a matter of days. Interest in the video that inspired this morning's re-enactment has ballooned. NBC's Mike Taibbi takes a look at why this video has struck such a chord with so many millions of people. We hope you'll join us this evening.

Hi Amy,

I was able to watch the second part of the Today Show this morning with Tamron and you. I saw the "wedding dance" party. They were great. It's hard to believe that no one has thought of that yet. Tamron and you are great dancers too.
I want to get the book, "What to Eat,and What Not to Eat." I was hoping the tower of onion rings would fall over the way you wanted to knock them over.

I'll be looking forward to this evening's broadcast. As I wrote last night, I don't know how Lester and you do it. And I hope Lester is OK.

Have a nice evening and coming week.

Vicki
Another night of stupidity about the Gates incident. Report some real news.
Enough, already, with the stupid wedding video.  What a colassal waste of time.  Show us some real news.  There are more important stories to share than this video.  Plus it's not news.  It was on TODAY yesterday and this morning.  It's olds, not news!
Did I miss the information about Iran?  Today was a great support day all over the world.
Holy smokes! You guys ran two segments on the idiotic story about the Gates incident!

Remember how Dick Cheney shot a guy in the face with a shotgun, and Cheney said it was the victims fault, and the right wingers complained that anything more than one day of news coverage was too much, so you guys stopped covering it? And it turned out later it was Cheney's fault, and he turned out to be the kind of guy to shoot his friend in the face and then blame the friend? And the part about the alcoholic beverages and Cheney not allowing the police to interview him?  Guess we won't remember that, because the right wing said the whole story got too much coverage.

Now the right wing wants a dumb story repeated forever and NBC obliges, as always.
Loved Mike Taibbi's story on "Dance Fever" wedding!  Glad we can replay it on your site.
Good Evening Amy, Nice to see you again for the broadcast this evening. You always do a fine job! Now on to the broadcast. First of all the report by Mr.Viqueira about President Obama and the issue of healthcare which has taken a back seat to the controversy of the arrest of Professor Gates. Hopefully, there will be some progress on the issue to save people money on the terribly high costs of medical treatment. The President is fighting to get the issue on the table, yet it might not make an August deadline of getting it passed. Time will tell.

On the report by Mr.Costello concerning the flight risk of birds striking airplanes it seems Boston's Logan Airport is attempting to help in keeping this problem happening. Testing the new radar system called Merlin which scans the skies for birds is a vital important step in preventing the risk of bird strikes. Giving more time to prepare and keep the skies clear and safe for the planes to take off fly and land on the runways. If it is very effective it could be installed at many more airports across the nation.
The "Making A Difference" segment by Anne Thompson about the doctor who started the "Pretty in Pink" program to help in the high costs of cancer treatment is certainly helping in saving lives. It can be such a huge strain on people especially in this awful economy with people losing jobs and this woman is really making it possible for the patients to get the help they need. She is doing fine work!

Nice to see the three eagles released into the skies over Virginia!

The piece by Mr.Taibbi about the wedding video of the wedding party dancing down the aisle is really great! Everyone in the church seems to be having a terrfic time and seeing the wedding party re-create the dance on the Today Show was wonderful and fun! One can understand why the video has been seen so much on the internet. Great job!

Thank You for the broadcast Amy! Peace to You and to All!

Lots of Love to Laurel,Jackie,Stephanie,Claudia,Celine,Anna,Lori,Cary and Matt!
Be Well Always!
Stay Extra,Extra Safe and Well Richard!
XOXO

Hi Amy

Great job the last two nights. I always enjoy watching you. Loved the wedding video. You were awesome dancing at the end of the "Today Show" this morning. Keep up the great work.

Sara
I was able to tune in to the first part of
the broadcast because I wanted to be brought
up to speed on Gates.  Good reporting, Amy.
I was read comments on another blog and I
totally agree with the blogger.
"President Obama was right about the Gates
arrest. It was not disorderly conduct with
Gates, which explains why the charges against
Gates were dropped.  It wasn't because the
police were trying to defuse the situation.
It was because Gates had done nothing
illegal.  Arresting someone for doing something
that isn't illegal is plain stupied."

OK, I'm watching the Nightly News tonight and there is another heart wrenching story about a woman with breast cancer who's oncologist wants to make sure that she doesn't give up food for chemotherapy.  Come on now.  Have any of your reporters heard of Medicare Disability?  After I was diagnosed with cancer I applied for Medicare Disability and it took them less than a week to approve. (Some people have to wait up to 6 months after a diagnosis but there is other aid available during this period.)  Why is there no mention that our current Medicare disability program covers cancer treatment?  Please, please, please start presenting balanced, factual, and intelligent reporting instead of emotional stories that may be interesting but are presented with obvious bias.

By the way, I was given 3 months to live.  And I'm still alive 30 months later thanks to the incredible American health system and our innovative treatments plus an enormous amount of support out there for people like me.
I have not been able at all to find anywhere to look up where I might see the space station and shuttle might be in tonight's sky anywhere on your site as tonight's program suggested I would.  You need to give clearer instruction or you might not even bother at all.
Amy

I liked you better on Imus in the Morning, although you had a smaller part, you were there everyday.

The other girl, the brunette, clearly couldn't handle Imus. She didn't fit the mold at all. I don't remember her name.

I know you read what they hand you. Do you ever have a problem with agreeing with any of it?
