A deadly attack in North Carolina

It's a busy Sunday in the newsroom. We're gathering information on a shooting rampage at a North Carolina nursing home that has left at least eight people dead.

There have been some close calls with breached levees along the Red River in North Dakota, reminding residents and officials there that despite a drop in the water level, they're are not out of the woods yet. With the river still above flood stage, all eyes are on those hastily erected barriers and whether they can hold.

We're also learning details of another round of bailout payments the White House wants to make to the auto industry. The announcement comes tomorrow, but CNBC's Phil LeBeau will be with me tonight to talk about what the administration will demand from Detroit in exchange for the money.

I hope you'll be able to join us for the Sunday edition of NBC Nightly News.

Looking forward to the news tonight. I saw Meet the Press and was very impressed by Tim Geithner. He was to explain to David Greogry how it was under the previous Administration that the bonus was approved as President Obama quickly after Jan. 20th changed that order. I guess David was on vacation when NBC announced that information. It's hard interviewing an Economicist when you haven't read his report or plan. Maybe David can check out Tim's website for the up dates not time.

Another killing in a church. It's so sad the depression that coming to some Americans.

see you same time same place

Good Evening Mr.Holt, Even though Nightly News was not broadcasted I still was able to see reports on the web site and it was a fine broadcast as always. First of all the report by Mr.Tibbles from Fargo,ND and how the flood waters are holding. It was good news the waters dropped 11inches although it isn't much it is still positive. So many sandbags holding back the water and people working so hard to keep filling more and more of them even saving a school from being overrun by the flood waters. These people are not giving up the fight and will try their hardest to protect their homes and property. I hope the flood waters keep receding.

On another note the report by Mr.Allen concerning the shooting rampage at a nursing home is completely unbelievable and I cannot understand how someone could possibly do something that horrible. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families who have lost someone and to those who were wounded. A very tragic situation.

The report by Stephanie Gosk about President Obama's trip to Europe for the G-20 showed many people are very excited to have the President arrive. Although there are protests over the economic crisis there are great expectations on the President and he is still very popular on the world stage.

The "Making A Difference" segment by Anne Thompson was truly moving. Seeing Evangeline Anderson being saved by Fireman Bill Carrol back in 1968 and now 40years later getting the chance to say thank you was wonderful. It was great he now was able to see her all grown-up with her own family. A nice piece!

Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Holt! Peace to You and to All!

Lots of Love to Laurel,Jackie,Stephanie,Claudia,Celine,Anna,Lori,Cary and Matt!
Be Well Always!
Stay Extra Safe and Well Richard!
XOXO

We were gone all day but I caught Nightly
News on MSNBC later when my husband & I came
home from our daughter's.  I do hope Fargo
does not get the snow predicted. The people
will be in my prayers tonight.

Hi Lester,
We missed the evening news because of the golf tournament.Good job,Tiger.

I wouldn't have known about the shooting rampage if I hadn't clicked onto your blog.I live in S.C.I haven't heard of the town it happened in.I don't know why people have to hurt anyone when there is a domestic situation. From what I understand the astranged wife worked at the nursing home. Why can't people get help before it turns out this way?

Have a good weekend and look forward to the upcoming broadcasts why you and Brian.

Brian,
Hey, writing from the library.  My computer is at the shop, they say until wednesday.  I would rather not talk for a few days and just listen to where you are at and everybody else.  Maybe city sewer problem will be fixed tomorrow before rain tomorrow night.  Other than that, things are peachy.  You know, you have the best job in the country; I want to stick around for a while, unless needed elsewhere! I still feel the dream!*  Will look out for you. love, tesa
My husband was surprised with "Red" tickets
for his birthday on Sunday.  The opening
of the "Reds" will be Monday, April 6, which
is a big deal, according to my daughter, who
bought the tickets,
and I learned tonight that Pres. Obama
will throw the first ball. I do not tag
along with them because I would spoil all
the fun.  But they take me to movies which
I enjoy. It works!!!
Phyllis
Lester,

Speaking of the economy...

I read that you paid 3.6 million for an apt.in Manhatten, a couple of yrs. ago?
Good God Man! What comes with it besides a great view of Madison Square Garden? I would expect free tickets to all the venues or a private performance here and there.
But,if anybody deserves it,you do. You are the man!

I SECOND THAT, LESTER.  YOU ARE THE MAN!  PHYLLIS
