Going downtown

Posted: Friday, October 10, 2008 5:15 PM by Sam Singal

By Brian Williams, Anchor and managing editor

I'm about to get in a cab...or on the subway (depending on traffic) and go downtown to Wall Street. We will originate the broadcast tonight from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, where they officially had the wildest trading session in history: a swing of over a thousand points up and down.

I wanted to alert our viewers (as Tom Brokaw will on Meet the Press on Sunday) to something we have coming up Monday night: newly-discovered audio tape, of an un-guarded JFK, just months before becoming President -- just over 3-years before his assasination. He talks candidly about his life, politics and his own health. The tapes will air for the first time anywhere on our broadcast Monday night. I've listened to all of it -- and it is chilling, haunting and fascinating at the same time. Having read just about every book extant on the Kennedy family and his presidency, I already know there is material here that will be in the next printing of various textbooks.

We'll hope to see you tonight. Have a good weekend (or try to) and we'll see you here Monday.

Dear Brian,

My theory is that the market will rally on November 5th, if Barack Obama turns out to be our President-elect.  I feel the market will further rebound beginning January 21st - again, assuming it is Obama who has been inaugurated - once President Bush is firmly ensconced in his ranch in Crawford.  I believe that the U.S. - and, indeed, the rest of the world - will only breathe a sigh of relief if it can be assured that there is going to be a sea change in American domestic and global diplomatic and economic policies.  Only Obama can provide that hope, in my view.

Good night to all the usual suspects.  Hopefully, I'll actually get posted tonight!  XOXO
Let's See if Brian Talks about Acorn Tonight ?
What do you Think. . .  I wonder why he won't Report this News Story. Why do you think.?
The bailout was passed and already some of those funds are being abused, ( AIG ).  Joseph Cassano took them to failure as their financial advisor and was rewarded with 34 million dollars. His title was changed to consultant and is being rewarded with one million dollars a month. We we see any of these people having to give that money back to the government that belongs to the taxpayers? Will we ever see any prosecutions? Or is this all just political rhetoric? Somebody needs to be the little guys voice. Thanks.
I'm a big follower/fan of Jim Cramer on CNBC, I have to TIVO his show while watching your broadcast. Maybe during these wild times on Wall Street you could have Cramer give a quick 30 to 60 seconds of advice during your show so we know where to start our homework at for the night.

Best,

Jeff
Brian if you google newsweek polls in the last election they had Kerry ahead of Bush 45to 51 so much for that!!!
Many people don't know that to JFK, the Apollo program was NOT a "race" or something just for national pride... for if it was, he would have never asked the Soviets to "JOIN US" as he did in a speech on September 20th 1963 at the UN General Assembly.

I firmly believe that John never once thought we could make it to the moon alone in only eight years and deliberately chose a goal to UNITE the superpowers rather than divide them.  We may have ultimately proved him wrong by making it to the moon alone, but unfortunately, I think we missed out on a large part of what was really intended.

This inparticular speech:

http://www.jfklibrary.org/Historical+Resources/Archives/Reference+Desk/Speeches/JFK/003POF03_18thGeneralAssembly09201963.htm

is remarkale for it's talk of honest peace, less discrimination, and the environment! It is utterly remarkable that we still call it a "race" to the moon!

Thanks for the fair and balanced reporting on ARORN, you should be so proud!
Good Evening Mr.Williams, It was appropriate that you did the broadcast from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange this evening with all the turmoil on Wall Street this week. Such huge swings of the Dow to finally end at 128pts down which I guess could have been worse as Mr.Quintanilla stated. Mr Quintanilla's report showing how all the overseas markets were in chaos was disturbing because this is such a huge global crisis. I really hope the meeting of all the Finance Ministers with Mr.Paulson and Mr. Bernanke can come up with some sort of rescue plan to help this economic crisis. Somebody needs to come up with some sort if idea.
The report by Mr.Lebeau concerning GM and how bad the sales are for the company is proving to be really tough for the dealerships. As the salesman from the dealership stated it is scary that is quiet. At least that one dealership sold three cars today! Woo! Hoo! A little positive news dealing with GM.
Finally, I was happy you ended the broadcast on a good note with the "Making A Difference" segment by Chris Jansing concerning the peace corps and how it's not just college students who join up. The couple in their fifties who did work in one of the poorest countries really sounded fulfilled by their experience and that is does change lives. Learning all kinds of different languages and going to these countries to be of service seems so rewarding and one comes back with a true feeling of accomplishment. Being idealistic and of service to others is great and I think is is wonderful people who are retired are joining the peace corps. Very good piece!
Thank You for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Looking forward to hearing the audiotapes of President Kennedy on Monday nights broadcast. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Peace to you and to all!

Lots of Love to Laurel,Jackie,Stephanie,Claudia,Celine,Anna and Matt!
Be Well Always!
Stay Safe and Well Richard! Hope to see you soon on Nightly News!
XOXO
Brian Williams,
One of the most disterbing conducts those in public view, Senators, congresspersons, news media, etc. is that of exageration.  Tonight when you stated that "Monday night we will see Kennedy tapes never seen before" I knew that was untrue.  The tapes have been seen by someone.  Let's raise the bar for creditability and honesty.  If I cannot trust you in small issues then how can I believe you, and anyone else in the public view, with more important issues.  Stretching of the truth moves our society down the road to untruths becomming the standard.  We have enough of that.  Take a stand for truthful communication that you , I am sure, desired when you first started in the industry.
Brian, I wanted to say thank you for always making the news worth watching.  I know times are grim for all of us. Thank you and to NBC for putting it in terms that the average joe can understand.I will keep watching!
Thank you again.
Thanks for the heads-up, Brian. I have been coming to appreciate you more and more lately.
However, when I see the tapes, it likely won't be McCain I'll be seeing parallels to.
McCain and Palins behavior, suggesting that Obama is a terrorist is reckless. People are very afraid for their livelihood and their families, they're angry at their leaders and they trust no one. It would be very easy to incite riots especially with the rhetoric that Sarah Palin is spewing. How would a terrorist leader rally sympathy for his or her cause?
Oh! My! Start a riot. Create civil unrest, then civil war then....... PLEASE STOP NOW!
This is AMERICA! The only place in the world where regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, weight, height, haircolor, fashion preference, political party; we can debate issues, disagree, agree to disagree, vote, majority wins. Isn't that how democracy works? Please Americans, be civil and tolerant. I think maybe McCain is beginning to realize the can of worms his campaign has opened given the tone of his statements today. He needs to put a sock in his VP candidates mouth before someone gets hurt. I fear the match that the McCain campaign has struck could grow into a full blown forest fire and his words today were to humbly too late.

I strongly encourage Congress to protect the last portion of our industrial economy.  Take aggressive steps to protect Ford and General Motors. Unlike the airlines which are protected from foreign competition domestically, the car manufactures are not!
Solution:
Freeze all trading of Ford and GM for three business days.
Hold a closed door meeting between Congress, Detroit and the UAW.  Give the UAW a 30% interest in the three domestic manufactures in exchange for a 40% wage reduction, now.
Have the fed offer zero interest loans for 48 months for domestic car buyers with acceptable credit.
If we lose the domestic car manufactures, we will never get this business back.
I am a retired Ford-Honda-Infiniti_Mitsubishi dealer.
Brian:  In my lifetime, I have been the witness of 12 presidential elections and this one.  Is it me, or is the strangest election we have witnessed?  It seems to me, that this election is nearly bizarre is because of the choices of the Republican candidate and a campaign strategy that seems in fact erratic and a candidate who appears to be decompensating and unraveling before our eyes.  What is your take?
Good evening, Mr. Williams. I listen to you every night as you take the pulse of the world, in live time. It has grown faint. Thank you for the dedication and honesty you bring into our homes like a good fried or neighbor. I was just thinking about the terrible financial situation & wondering...What good will it do to bail out lending institutions if so many citizens are loosing jobs, homes and bound to cripple the welfare system too?  Who among those folks are going to try to get a loan, buy a car or anything else?  Someone should stop looking at the forest, instead of all the dying trees. There is a simple solution of course, albeit expensive. Bail out Americans who are suffering most, the ones who built the infrastructure with hard work and low wages.  Maybe all taxpayers over 21 with an income of less than $100,000., with exceptions for those who are not legally responsible, for various reasons. I don't mean a mere pittance, but a substantial amount such as $10,000-$20,000. Instant recovery! Bills would get paid, banks would flourish, fear would lift, the stock markets would rebound and with a big windfall, sales would resume. It would grease all the wheels that run our planet and people would be more sensible given a chance to recover, from the absolute disaster that looms on the horizon.  That said, just think of how our great nation would shine in the eyes of the entire world, their eyes are indeed, upon us.  It really could be a win/win situation and... A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !       Seriously, Scarlett
I so look forward to hearing John Kennedy's voice (of reason) on Monday. Thanks for letting us know about it. My company published historical research about JFK's administration and the assassination. What a wrong turn our country took that day.
I am living in NYC and currently enjoying public transportation.  I would consider an American Hybrid car if I find an attractive deal with 0% interest on car loan for up to 4 years.  :D !
Looking forward to hearing the new audio, thanks for the heads-up, Mr. Williams. I saw you at the JFK Library last year moderating a panel discussion on Vietnam era presidents. One of my favorite quotes comes from JFK - "Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men." Not among Kennedy's better known quotes, but you can hear him saying it.
While the newly discovered audio tape of JFK may be of some interest, I do not understand why MSM people often seem to be more interested in trivial details about the period than the overarching "story" about JFK -- his assassination and the pivotal role it has played in US history.  Have you read "Brothers" by David Talbot (founder of Salon.com)?

At this point the evidence overwhelmingly points to Osward not being the sole assassin.  It's curious why the powerful politicians decided that it was best if Americans not know the truth "for the good of the country" (lest it cause civil unrest).  Much more alarming still is how the official narrative of Oswald as the lone assassin is still generally regarded as fact by the mainstream media.  Thus not only were the conspirators able to commit the murder of a sitting American president in broad daylight in front of reporters like Robert "Robin" MacNeil, there has never even been recognition of their existence.

That sort of power -- to assassinate JFK, AND to be able to create a false and widely accepted cover story accepted as fact for decades -- makes me deeply concerned about what group has really been running this country for the past 45 years.  Getting out that story would be genuine news.  Save the distracting tangential trivia for after the real story is told.
Brian-

Loved your field trip to the NYSE and a special thanks to all the CNBC reporters who are terrific in helping us understand this financial mess. Great use of the multiple resources of NBC News.

Another much appreciated NBC resource, SNL had me laughing out loud with their Thursday night parody of Tuesday's presidential debate. Spot on and fun, fun, fun. Bravo!

New JFK material?! Wow! I look to Monday night with keen anticipation. Will you tell us how you came by it? Please do.

Laurel-- You read my mind with your November and January predictions. May it all come true.

Hello and take care to all the usual suspects. Good weekend all. You too, Brian! And a special thanks to you for keeping us "financially" well informed. Now can you do anything about the Dow?! Just teasing! And thanks for the Peace Corp "Making a Difference". It was a neat way to end a stressful week.
It is appalling and detestable that the NBC News producers and executives (and I include Brian Williams on that list) would allow Vesicare to sponsor Friday's edition of "Making A Difference".  The MAD segment was about Jeannie and Charlie Finesilver who, in their early 50's, left their comfortable lives and joined the Peace Corps in order to help the people of Mali, in West Africa.  The Finesilvers should be commended for their wonderful work.  On the other hand, GlaxoSmithKline, the makers of Vesicare, spent years trying to keep their AIDS drugs from being sold at low prices in Africa.  They also refused to grant a license to other companies who wanted to manufacture a lower-priced generic version of the drugs to sell in Africa.  GSK actually sued the South African government over the Medicines Act, which would have allowed the government to obtain inexpensive AIDS drugs.  GSK also threatened legal action against CIPLA, an Indian company that tried to import a generic AIDS drug into Ghana in 2000.  In 2004, GSK was sued by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation over its AIDS drugpricing policies in South Africa.  According to Michael Weinstein, AHF's president, "As a result of GSK's actions, thousands and thousands of South Africans were unable to afford or obtain GSK's life-saving AIDS drugs, and we believe thousands of those individuals have died of AIDS as a result."  So while the Finesilvers were helping to save lives in Africa, GSK was actually responsible for thousands of AIDS-related deaths.  It is grotesque that NBC would allow GSK to sponsor this "Making A Difference" segment.  Shame on you, NBC.  (Information about GSK's drug policy in Africa can be found by googling "Glaxo AIDS Africa" or some similar combination of words.)
McCain's pick of Palin will be his undoing. Palin is now known for two things: violating ethics (Troopergate)
and appealing to the ultra right wing of the Republican Party. What was McCain thinking when he failed to properly failed to vet this little known Gov of 600,000
people?  Surely McCain knew she was in no way qualified to be VP.
THIS IS QUIETLY BEING DISCUSSED ALL OVER WASHINGTON.   MANY REPUBLICAN SENATORS ARE SECRETLY VOTING FOR OBAMA - WORRIED ABOUT A McCAIN BREAKDOWN IN OFFICE.

Mr. Williams,
I'm looking forward to watching your team on Election Night-it looks like it may be a long late night/early morning for you.
With regard to the tapes of JFK, would you be able to put them on the website after Monday night? I'm very much looking forward to hearing them.
Thank you for your work during this hectic time.
Bill Kelly
Dear Brian,
Please note the following errors in hyphenation in your message:
newly discovered  no hyphen when an -ly adverb introduces a two-word modifier.
unguarded takes no hyphen
3 years before (or, more correctly, three years before) takes no hyphen
All errors of commission rather than omission.
Come on, Brian. A managing editor should know better!
Dear Mr. Williams,

Do you know a great deli in the NYC? Do I take the A Train or should I drive to get there? Ha, ha just kidding. I just wanted to thank you for the great coverage of the election so far. Being a can or two short of a "Joe Six-Pack", I regularly watch NBC Nightly and PBS's Newshour. I'm glad to see that your organization seems to be returning to "hard" news and less "soft" i.e. "human" interest (as opposed to?)... I hope this trend continues, considering the re-interest in news, in general. Actually, I wish your program was an hour long too.
I'm interested in watching your next piece about JFK. Having not grown up in his era and being a democrat, I'm naturally interested although I feel sometimes he is demogogued. I was also once like others who believed in the possibility of a conspiracy in his assassination but I had the good fortune of watching excepts from a documentary from another repected hour-long news organization's program that convinced me otherwise. As to who benefited from it, the question is now moot. Like all great conspiracy theories they give a sense of reason in an illogical, sometimes cruel-seeming world and they provide validation for all our biases and fears however they remain what they truly are - enticing fantasy at best and at worse terrible distractions from appreciating the truths right in front of us. Anyway, that's what I learned from "the news". I look forward to your show on Monday, hope you had a nice weekend p.s. when are you news anchors going to start dressing for Halloween? Don't bother, Raoul Duke, is taken... ok, maybe I'll be John McLauglin (scary!) peace be with you -A
Mr.Williams, thanks so much for giving us the heads up.

I am 56 yrs young and I am African American, and I have seen some things and have overcome many obstacles.
This election has brought so many tears to my eyes and I have and still do pray unceasingly for the people who are involved in both campaigns and I have been sorely grieved in my spirit with what I am hearing and seeing.
I was not naive in going into this in supposrt of Senator Obama( after praying about the choice I was to make),I knew it was not going to be easy for any African American to break the ceiling and be effective in this country once again turning a page and making history.
No one has stated this in the msm but we are on the world stage and we are being watched to see it we truly have grown and if this is truly a "free" country for all men to achieve any dream they may have.
The hatred, the racism, the bitterness,is coming to the surface which has been hidden by many...the lies are just a disgrace and a dishonor to God and it dishonors any politician in the eyes of God.
Why can't they stick with the issues and  another thing when will someon speak the truth and say that the reason John McCain picked Sara Palin was not good judgement on his part and he most certainly did not and is not putting the country first.
By the way, please advise his staff or Ms.Palin and her associates that there are many Christians out here who do not label themselves as conservatives who most def will be voing for Senator Obama, yes Ms.Palin gives a good stump speech for those to attend churces but her character and actions as well as words are and have been diabolically opposed to Gods word in regards to how He feels about integrity and character, she is a dishonor and disgrace to real women of God.By the way abortion is not the only sin, to hate is to murder the bible says and to hate your brother is a sin,(Sen.Obama is as much as chritian as she is, she says she is one and so does he and if I can accept her then why not him).I will never sell my soul to the devil for any position.
By the way John McCain and Ms.Palin need to know as the rest of the world integrity and a right character are big things in the eyes of God (He looks on the heart) and from abundance of the heart the mouths speaks (we have seen Palins and MCains heart from their words)that is who will win this election because God looks at the heart.
Mr.Williams,Ms.Palin says she is a christian well the Lord who is good would never instruct anyone to insight hatred, anger and stir up unsafe emtions but the devil would.Because God is Love.
Bless you Mr.Williams and I will be watching so appropriate for a time such as this.
Thank you,again.
I pray that God will heal this land..from all the racism, bigorty and hatred.I have a 9 yr old,he went to the DNC with his parents and we have to explain all this mess to him, because even the children are talking negatively about a black man running for POTUS,he attends a predominately white private school in Fairfax,Va.
You would not believe the things he has told us,my daughter had to got the the school, and speak to them.
JANENE
I don't know where your information comes from but Newsweek's final poll showed Bush winning by 6%. He only won by 2%/
The can of worms opened by McCain?  It is the Dems who are crying race and they will continue to cause racial divides in this country.  McCain has never brought race into this campaign. but he is being blamed for it.  Obama and the Dems can cry race and stay unaffected. Another pass for Obama.
Mr. Williams, I trust you as much as I trusted Tim "Little Timmy" Russart.  I miss him, but I turn to you for honesty.  I watch every night, and I wanted to thank you and your staff for the "Making a Difference" Segment. Amazing how ordinary people have better ideas and more commitment than the government.  Thanks.
OMG, am I getting old. I remember those days so vividly...the ideas of the Kennedys and Dr. King brought to America. They brought messages of hope, promise, pride and unity. Not thru hate but thru a sense that we could be better than we were...that we all had something to contribute.

Then to see those dreams shattered in 5 years still is very painful. Not only did we lose great leaders, but we lost a part of the American spirit. America has not been the same country since the assassinations. Not sure America has healed from those times.

Can't wait to hear the tapes on Monday...even tho I know they will make me cry.
Why is NBC really showing the JFK tapes? Is it to continuously excite more civil unrest or is this NBC's contribution to the RNC?
To Andy, The reason Brian won't talk about the Acorn story is because it's not a story, nada, nothing.
My favorite topic John Fitzgerald Kennedy. He gave us baby boomers a mission to be part and take responsible of our Country. As not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country. The words it the heart of a generation that still lives today. I pray Obama can be the example to young people today. I remember I told my Dad this was my country too even when we were dealing with so much hate and racism before the Civil Right Bill was passed.  As was told by generation the same could be said for the generation of today We are living history.
My first exposure to outsourcing work offshore was in the early 1990’s.  A customer of mine told me over lunch that the place for us was to not be manufacturing based nation but rather a management based “middle man” type of nation.  I wasn’t sure why but at the time I thought that somehow it was very wrong.
Fifteen years later I now see more clearly why it was so wrong.  By outsourcing our manufacturing we have now established ourselves as the “Middleman Nation” that no one wants or more importantly needs.
On Friday from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange you commented that our nation lacks confidence in the current political candidate’s ability to solve what may well be one of the world’s most financially crippling problems in modern history.  You then went on to ask that corporate C.E.O’s. come forward with their ideas for guiding our nation back towards financial health.
WHAT COULD YOU POSSIBLY BE THINKING?
These are the same preverbal foxes who have been watching and eating the chicken coop over the past decade!  What makes you think that they want to provide a safe trail back to health?
Greed is a driving force that may be too strong for clear thinking.
Unfortunately with a voice to small and an audience not nearly large enough to make any significant impact, for several years I have keep my thoughts to myself.  I have thought that the nearsighted investment community has both invited and encouraged C.E.O’s of public companies to search for quick bottom line results.  Simply put, a relatively low risk way to achieve the desired results is to outsource.  One type of outsourcing with perhaps the greatest return on investment is to have ones products made offshore for a fixed cost, thus allowing for almost guaranteed results for the first couple of years, or at least long enough for the Board of Directors to cash in on a financial win-fall.  As the foundation for a healthy business nation we ultimately need to eliminate this type of short term management thinking.
Two thoughts that aren’t quick fixes but may lead to solid idea’s for reestablishing the United States as the industrial giant that has an established self supporting economy with a financial stability are;
1) Incentivise corporations that bring work back from abroad and reestablish the United States as a manufacturing based nation, put people back to work.
2) Require that the bonuses that are to be paid out to corporate management be spread out over a five year period based on the year over year profitability of the company.  This will certainly encourage management to look after the well being of the corporation that they are running and discourage if not eliminate the win-fall style company crippling greed.
Mr. Williams, hello

I am waiting for a round up of the regulations/laws that the government is imposing or being considered on the institutions that are at the window asking for help.  It is not that I think that the bailout shouldn't happen but rather that we need to put in place measures that prevent it from happening again. Otherwise it will cost more and prolong the pail. I have been digging amoung published bills etc. and have little to show for my effort.  Please tell me I am just missing the right documents.
Bailout leaders -were ex Goldman executives.  Is it wise to have them in charge.
Shallow reporting.  Why did you conceal the story about where these tapes have been for nearly 50 years? How did NBC obtain them?  Who had them, etc.  Typical.  More time spent hyping the story than telling it.
I am wondering why we haven't heard from Alan Greenspan during this economic crisis.  Where is he?
Could it be that some of this mess was a result of his tenure at the Fed?

I am VERY DISPLEASED with your story on the JFK tapes.
First -- you did NOT explain:
WHERE this tape has been all these decades?
WHY was it not released previously?
Don't you understand the people want to know this far, farrrr more than you spending excess air-time thanking historian Michael Bhesloss (SP?) so much!
Furthermore, I have only been able to hear 'a portion' of the tape ONCE here at your site (and now not at all) and the genesis of the aired tape - where he was discussing CAROLINE is missing! NBC has edited the tape. (How very NIXON of you!) If you won't do this correctly from the beginning, you should have given the tape to C-SPAN and allowed them to play it without interruption!
Shame on you. Millions of people want to hear this and you've gotten this half-presented / if at all! LETS' SEE IF THIS COMMENT GOES ON YOUR LIST OF COMMENTARIES! ITS' THE TRUTH.
Brian,
After listening the the JFK tapes tonight, I can only hope and pray that Obama has the same type of leadership this country dearly needs!!! As always you do a great job!!!

I've just read all the comments postedin the last two broadcast days.. It makes me glad to know that Americans are on top of things evenand especially now!! I agree with you Gus, Palin will be McCain's undoing, but then what can you expect of a cadet who graduated 2nd from bottom of his class..
I loved hearing the tapes of John F. Kennedy!! How fasinating!! I was 10 years old when he was assassinated, and even then felt that what we were told could not be true, how sad and unsettling.
I also agree that once Bush is back in Crawford and Obama is in The White House EVERYTHING will start to get better!!
Brian, thanks so much for the piece on JFK and comments by Michael Bechloss.  It was a nice piece of insight.  I look forward to hearing more of the tapes online.
NBC news is doing a wonderful job covering the financial crisis, and I look forward to your coverage every evening. Oprah did a show today on middle class women and their financial problems.  One particular 25 year old who earned approx. $30,000 a year working two jobs in Boston was in tears concerning her economic survival.  She gave up her car and her very few SIMPLE luxuries like manicures to be able to afford the basics of living.  I then thought of the greedy men who contributed to this huge mess,  who are walking away with sinful packages of millions...  They do not bat an eye as we witnessed in the Senate hearings.  It is obvious we need some government intervention here.  A definite change from the last eight years.
Brian,
my husband and started watching nightly news with Brian Williams this year and the coverage for this years elections. We are hoping and praying that this years elections will set the tone for all americans and for the world to see that no matter what the problems are here in america that we are facing and have faced and must face in the future we know that God is in control and that everything is going to be okay no matter who the next president may be. We hope that they will do what that have been saying they will do and not just talk there way in to this election and disappoint millions of people who have been waiting for change to take place. What about the poor people not just the rich, and the middle class but everyone who live in america. Brian can you please ask them what about the poor people who can't do for themselves who really needs the help and for those who have been hit by bad weather and what about the rebuilding of New Orleans? Will that ever get the money they need to help themselves.
Dear Matt,

Where are the JFK tapes from?   What's the big mystery?   If you don't reply honestly, I'll question your integrity as a journalist.
Brian is so bias, he should fine a new job.
After stock market debacle, housing market crisis, Govt's bailout etc, can we really afford to hand over
our healthcare to be managed by Govt? I practiced
medicine in Uk and in USA until 2000. Got tired of paperwork and hassle w/ HMOs.I have also survivrd cancer..So I know what I am talking about.Socialized medicine is hazardous to your health! Dr.kalale Krishnamurthy,Chester,VA
Hurray for Obama and the Robin Hood Socialist Agenda!!

It is about time Obama acknowledged his hidden agenda of socialism.  This is our (Socialist) time.

You have seen this capitalist failure and now it is time to have a socialist agenda.  The agenda , my hero, Obama is pushing for.

Vote for Obama and let's realize our socialist democratic party goals!!
