We are insanely busy today, doing hourly live updates on the network and crashing together political and financial coverage for tonight's broadcast.

Because many people have asked, I wanted to say that I, along with many other journalists, certainly hope and expect to be given the opportunity to interview the GOP Vice Presidential nominee, Gov. Sarah Palin. We issued the standing request for an interview the instant Gov. Palin was named to the ticket, and have followed up numerous times on various fronts with the campaign. In anticipation of such an event, please post questions that you would like to see asked, and we will make every attempt to work your question into the mix during an interview.

Please don't waste your time interviewing Governor Palin.  At this point, it would be the political equivalent of piling on.
Brian -

This is my question for Sarah Palin:

Why are you running for Vice President of the United States of America?

Joan
Has NBC now retracted the declaration of civil war in Iraq. I understand GE just contracted with Iraq to provide electric generation equipment. Should they do this during a Civil war?
Good Evening Mr.Williams, First of all it has been a terrible day on Wall Street with the dramatic drop of over 700 points. Then after meeting all weekend the Senate and House of Representatives were unable to pass the bailout bill. Now one wonders if they will ever come to an agreement and hopefully it will be something that will actually work. I really and truly hope things make a turn for the better.
Regarding the gas shortage here in Georgia it is bad and it is difficult to find a station with gas. One has to conserve how much driving one does each day and not waste a drop. There is one station near my work that hasn't recieved a shipment of gas in over a week. One has to hunt for a gas station that has working pumps and when one does it is great. Not many stations with gas in my area, hopefully it will get better. I hope it gets better by the end of the week.
Looking forward to the broadcast Mr.Williams. Peace to You and to All!

Lots of Love to Laurel,Jackie,Stephanie,Claudia,Celine,Anna and Matt!
Be Well Always!
Stay Safe and Well Richard! Hope to see you soon on Nightly News!

I myself am worried when they have put Palin out as the saving point for G.O.P., but they (McCain's team) aren't allowing the media to have full access to interview her. What I've seen so far from her scares me.

One thing McCain/Palin claim is to be the original mavericks is wrong. Bush/Cheney have tun maverick for the last 7 1/2 years.
Hi Brian,

you were out-phased to an interview with Palin because NBC News was in the bandwagon for Obama since the day Obama has declared his primary candidacy. And now you're whining why you not get an interview? Try to be non-partisan - than you will get an interview.

But I have a question you can ask Palin in the fictious case you will get an interview: How were you able to resist the pressure the national news media put on you to retire the Veep spot?

I also want to state who was responsible for the mess the United States had to suffer today. It was the Democrats fault. Dodd, Kerry and Obama got the highest contributions from Fannie and Freddie. The Democrats were the ones who boxed through the bailout plan and manipulated the original plan by Paulson/Bernanke. It was the left-leaning Greenspan who talked the world into recession. It was the Democrat Schumer who let fail Indymac by saying Indymac wasn't able to exist anymore. It was Obama who wasn't in Washington during the negotiations of the Bailout Plan (he was campaigning). It was Pelosi who was all over the place with Dodd, Schumer and Reid proclaiming the current plan was their idea.

Try watching this two videos and your opinion about the no-good Democrats will change swiftly by the second:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usvG-s_Ssb0

I urge NBC News not to block my comment for the sake of clarity who is really responsible for the mess the world is in today. Germans have also a stake in that mess. Today a German bank had be rescued with 27bn Euros of taxpayer money because the bank had bought your bad mortgages. Tomorrow when the German markets will open, certainly the DAX (our stock index) will fall to record lows because of the Democrats inability to have a sound economic policy. The Democats are the phoniest individuals in that economic situation.
Many of the House members who voted for or against the bailout voted along party lines.  I wonder how many of them actually understand what the end results of their vote will mean.  Are the members of Congress there to vote the party line or do they actually think for themselves once in a while?
I can't afford a car loan.
I can't afford a mortage.
I don't need a student loan but couldn't afford one if I did.

They said they didn't know if this 700B was going to free up credit lending anyway.

So how about some help down here and let it trickle up.  I don't want a hand out.  I got a job but I need a raise.  Not a golden parachute. Two bucks an hour would help.  Then I could afford to save something to buy a new car or a home.  Give me a tax break; that might help so I'm not living from payday to payday for the essentials.
Hi Brian
No surprise with the bail out plan failing, notice how Bush always uses that executive orders on what he and his party want. Look Paul O'Neill and from Gov. Spitzer said this would happen but Americans wanted to follow the Bush plan. Even Paulson encouraged banks to make subprime loans when he got appointed. Nice move for Goldman Sachs to be biggest winner standing and Paulson even gets bigger share profits. This is what happens will you let the crooks run the US Economy, they have to steal it's all they know. This Administration has failed on everything yet Americans seem to forget the famous blank checks the Republican run Congress gave Bush. When you dance to the music you have to pay to the piper ( you know the rest)

Now to Sarah. After watching Katie Courics interview with Sarah don't look for Sarah to get a brain. Look she is only a second place beauty contestant and Miss Congeniality winner. She lost me with her foreign policy experience only being that she lives next to Russia. She is a disgress to professional woman and to America. I don't think Sarah wants to be intereviewed by a qualified Journalist. I listen to her comment on YouTube when asked about the selection of the nominee for the Democrats. Yes Brian she called Obama sambo and Hillary the b word. Now that leaves me out to vote for her as I'm African American and a woman. Someone should have told her becareful what you say it can come back to you. The President of Russia and PM Putin are getting a good laugh at the GOP nominee for VP.

Nice to see the report on the US Attorney firing. Now the Administration wants to blame low level employess to save Gonzo and Rove. We have lost our Justice System to.

Now who would want to invest their hard earn money with criminals? The Market will recover when new honest Leadership is in charge of the White House, until then look for it to continue to go down. A normal person would try to fix a probam not wait for it to totally fall. I guess many Law Makers really aren't interested in serving the people they represent.

Best to my friends Lisa, Laural, Stephanie, Claudia, Celine, Anna and Matt

RE: Stephanie stay safe during that storm my prayers are with you.
Hello Brian,
First I would like to comment on today's historic vote, today's vote is the reason many Americans know that the problenm with Washington is not the President but the House and Congress. Yes we need change but, we need to change the self serving members that put their interest above the interest of the American people. I for one will vote against any incumbent.

As for my question for Sarah Palin, Please asked her if she was ready for the stupidity of the attacks on her and her family.
When you look over at Russia from your front porch: do you see polar bears or penguins?
Dear Mr Williams.. my 0.02$.. for what its worth.

It looks like both parties want is more interested in complaining about each other but not really interested in the good of the USA. This is when I wish that the President or Vice-president can desolve the Congress and set up a new fresh election for the whole congress. This happens in some countries in Asia.. works really well.

Secondly.. why bail out firms who were greedy by pumping more money for them? Obama and McCain are both wrong. USA is a capitalist country, where a Dog-Eats-Dog attitude should prevail. If a company does not do well because of its greedy executives, let another Dog come in an buy it. FEDs can help the second company to buy the falling one. When one company buys too many companys and becomes very successful, the USA anti-trust laws will help cut it down to size.

Thirdly… Why help greedy americans who spend more than what they earn. Its that greed that makes them fall prey to pre-qualified credit cards and buy mortgages which are > 95% of the value of the house. If you individually are so greedy to borrow more than what you can pay and you know it.. then you are equally to be blamed for this…

On the other hand if you want to bail someone, bail out the common citizen.  Give everyone who has filed a tax return in each of the last 5 years a one time tax refund of (excluding anyone who has made > 500,000$ gross income in 2007, criminals and those who are in bankruptcy) $50000 back.  Think of it as a "thanks for lawfully paying your tax" refund.  The catch here is that if you owe a financial institution debt, your refund will go first to settle your debts.  This way the common citizen is happy (credit history does not get dinged and the financial institutions can recoup some of the money they gave up greedly...

But again I am a common citizen with common views and not like these hooligans (both democrats and republicans) in the Congress...  With them earning 6 figure salary's they truely do not understand the plight of the common citizen.  I would challange them to donate 100$ to each constituent they represent and do not take credit for it...  That would be the sacrifice I would be looking for but sadly we live in a selfish world.....
Mr. Williams,

Hope you had a great weekend(though I'm sure it was probably busy with the current situation). I am looking forward to tonight's broadcast. I know NBC will do a great job as always of breaking down whats going on and "where do we go from here". I was glad to see that the largest percentage of people voting on your nbc/msnbc related poll said that the best thing to do now is to renegotiate the plan, but still scared that it was only 9 percent higher than the people who said to just let the markets "sort it out". Their is a real split in America about this I have noticed, but I am surprised the majority say to renegotiate, based on the calls I have been receiving at my work.

I imagine you are feeling confident that you will be getting an interview with Governor Palin if you are taking questions now.

My questions for Governor Palin are: How do you think the office of the Vice President will change with a woman filling that role? How will politics change? How will the White House Change?  (I'm not sure whether or not that question would be appropriate for a male interviewer to ask. Does anyone think so?)

What is the first issue you are going to/looking forward to take on as Vice President, and why?
Brian
Why would Sarah Palin even consider doing an interview with NBC given the following:

On The Today Show this morning.....

Andrea Mitchell reported on the vice presidential candidates, both of whom have made gaffes.

Andrea not only showed clips of Palin's gaffes, she showed clips of SNL ridiculing the Palin gaffes.

As for Biden...Andrea merely used a few seconds to say that he has also had some gaffes.
THAT'S IT!
No clips of Biden saying that a leader should know what he/she's talking about, then proceeding to say that FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT GOT ON TV TO SPEAK AFTER THE STOCK MARKET CRASH.
a) Franklin Roosevelt was not president at the time of the stock market crash!
b) TV had not been invented at the time of the stock market crash!

Had Palin gotten those two significant historical facts wrong, Andrea Mitchell would have run a clip of it and joined her NBC colleagues in throwing it into their on air conversations ad nauseam.

Andrea Mitchell (AN NBC REPORTER?) goes into mama mode whenever there's a criticism of Obama, acting like a mother protecting a son. Looks like she's adopted Joe Biden too.

NBC has proven to be unfair to conservative candidates, so why would they bother giving you the time of day?

Brian<

Ive been watching the evening news tonight with not one word of good news. Please Brian tell us that something good happened in the United States today!!
Brian,
I love my country, but right now I am very upset as many are concerning this finanical disaster, but hearing that Congress is taking off two days for a Holiday is the icing on the cake! This is a national and world wide disaster with a huge ripple effect. Did Hurricane Katrina take time out or time off for a holiday? I think it is time to vote in all new people for Congress and get rid of those that forgot they are working for the common man/woman! Is this what happened in the last days of Ancient Rome?

I don't know who told you that an hour away from Atlanta there is plenty of gas but 1) it is not true and 2) how would we get there?  we have no gas.
The message to Washington is "WE'RE MAD AS HELL AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!" You all were so busy trying to outdo each other that you let this happen to the economy.
I just listened to your reporter in Atlanta make the statement "the gas shortage is in the metro areas; an hour away there is plenty of gas and no lines". I live in Dahlonega, exactly 1 hour north of Atlanta, and there are lines and no gas. Wish what she said was true, but as of tonight Monday, 9/29, it isn't.
The interests of our country is to NOT PASS THIS BAILOUT.  Passing this bailout will further erode the Constitution and further move us to a socialistic nation. (I suspect that part of the uprising of Main Street is the fact that we've got to listen to this particular president begging us to support this vote.) I don't know how to stop this financial crisis but this is not the solution.  Why should I, the lowly American on disability and not covering the extreme basics of life, take the fallout for bankers & politicians who have been sleeping and "fornicating" together for years?

Again, I am so grateful I've never had a 401k.  I've never had anything larger than my savings account.  I just have one question:  if everything is gone, does that negate my student loans?  Just a hope...

I am not a Hollywood fan, but they don't make them like Paul Newman.  Oh those eyes.... I'm not sure which was more appealing: how those eyes sparkled blue, or the soul of a gentle giant that twinkled back at you.  Not only was he a giver to all, he gave to his family & had a long, lasting marriage.  You can't say that of today's "hot" celebrities.
That attack ad on NBC News tonight by McCain was disgraceful. Please see the full story here. - Tom (OIF 2003)

Thank you for the touching tribute to Paul Newman this evening.  Several of us who knew him during his racing career have posted our memories at www.speedstylemagazine.com

There are some great stories here outside of the mainstream media.  Racing was his catharsis where he could let his guard down for a few hours, relax, and have fun.  Our condolences to his family, and to the thousands of kids whose lives he made so much better.
Can the Republicans ask that Nancy Pelosi's resignation be included in the next Bailout Package?
At least when McCain wins ... that will knock out  Obama's tiring rhetoric.  What though can silence Pelosi's despictable NEVERENDING Communist voice?
Good Evening Mr.Williams, Nice to see you this evening. First of all I agree wholeheartedly with Karen McColgan of Atlanta. I heard that statement from Michelle Kosinski in her report and I thought where did she see any station with gas an hour out of Atlanta and with no lines. There is no gas an hour away from Atlanta and if there is I agree with Karen again "How do we get there?"  We have no gas here where I live. It is really a problem here where I live and I really hope deliveries come very soon. Thank You Karen for hearing the same thing I did!
On another note the In Depth report was most disturbing about questions concerning voting machines and whether they would work properly on election day. There are going to be alot of absentee voting happening in many States including Georgia and that might alleviate some of the long lines, but it will still be a huge turnout. Only 36 more days to go until election day and one hopes it will just be decided as quick as possible. Hopefully everything will go smoothly on election day. I really hope so.
The report by Mr.Bazell concerning allergies and giving video cameras to patients to record themeselves was heartbreaking at times. It was sad to hear that little girl cry about not being able to play outside like the other kids. My heart just went out to her. Hopefully, through these video recordings it will be helpful in allowing people with allegies live normal lives.
Finally, it is sad the passing of Paul Newman. He was many things, husband, father, great actor, race car driver, humanitarian and more. He will be greatly missed by many people.
Thank you for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Peace to You and to ALL!

Lots of Love to Laurel,Jackie,Stephanie,Claudia,Celine,Anna and Matt!
Be Well Always!
Jackie-Great to have you back!
Stay Safe and Well Richard! Hope to see you soon on Nightly News!

Yes, I'd like to know why John McCain is blaming the Democrats for the failure of the $700 Billion bailout. Just two months ago, Mr McCain and Mr Bush stated that the economy was financially stable, we weren't heading for a depression or a recession. Now the country is in dire needs because the bailout failed. FACT: 67% of Republicans voted against the bailout; 60% of Democrats voted against the bailout. FACT: The American people called their Democrat and Republican representatives to vote against this bailout.
It's time Mr McCain and Mr Obama stop blaming "the other party" and get to work finding out a way out of this mess.
The reporter who said that there is gas an hour away from Atlanta is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!! She needs to get her facts straight BEFORE broadcasting that vital piece of information for the world to hear. I am sure that all who live an hour away from Atlanta would like to know where this phantom gas station is so we can fill up and go to work. I live an hour and a half away from Atlanta and I am her to tell your reporter that there IS NO GAS AVAILABLE!!! Even across the state line in South Carolina there is no gas. Lets get the news right.
Dear Brian Williams,

The definition of Irony;

As we are watching the news about Congress not passing the Bail-Out Bill, and how this will lead to a terrible credit crunch, how it will affect Americans, who will not be able to get credit to buy a car or refinance their mortgage, the phone rings, and Country Wide Mortgage is trying to get us to refinance our mortgage to give us more cash to buy a car, or anything else we desire!  The news and reality appear to be disconnected.
Mr Williams,
I'm still trying to figure out if you were attempting a joke with interviewing Sarah Palin,  AS Nbc most specifically is on the banner-head for the GOPs attacks on the liberal bias east coast media.
It was extremely disappointing today to see both parties attacking and blaming the other for the failure of the bailout.  I think there are real doubts of it's effect in the country and it would have been better and more productive for all parties to admit they were unwilling to pass a bill that their constituents did not support.  I'm the only democrat in a very republican household and i have to say no one in my family believes that this was a proper solution or one we should rashly decide on,** the fact that i concur with the rest of my family in itself is a small miracle** the financial crisis didn't happen overnight and we can't except an instant permeant lasting solution overnight either. Rash decisions are exactly what got us into the several messes we currently are in.
Dear Brian,

I think what bothers me most about this failed bailout plan, is why has it gotten this bad in our county and they are just now starting to realize it.  How long ago was it that Bush said we are not in a recession and now it's Oh - if you don't bail out these financial institutions - we'll be in a recession! I'm so sick of hearing all of this and yet we continue to pump money into Iraq and the military and our leaders worry about rebuilding Iraq and Georgia and other countries & we can't even fix our own natural disasters and get gas to the folks in Hotlanta?   This is crazy.  Wake up people, take care of your own first before you try to fix the world.

ps - please don't interview Sarah Palin, that one with Katie Couric was just cringe-inducing to watch and I don't think I could take anymore
What is wrong with the government?  If thier willing to spend all that money to get the economy working they should split it with every American family that makes under $100,000.00.  That would jump start the things since we would have money to spend on non-essential goods. Who cares if businesses can't get easy credit.  Don't try to scare us with factories having to cut production and with that workers.  If the average person can't afford to buy those extras, factories will be scaling back anyway.  It's about time white collar workers have to deal with the same reality that blue collar workers deal with every day.
This bailout would have only been beneficial to the upper class and if your the Average Joe, things have been bad for awhile.  And I'll bet its not getting better soon.
If freeing up credit is the goal, then why not use the $700 Billion (or smaller amount) to extend credit to people directly (through federal banks) rather than reward mismanaged companies with a corporate bailout on taxpayers' dime?  Wouldn't this be a more direct way of reaching the stated goal (without encourage the bad behavior)?  Why is capitalism the answer when my money is lost in the Market, but socialism is the solution when the rich lose their money due to risky investments?
Please ask Gov. Palin why she would waste time on NBC the station that is nothing but a Obama promoter? Am sure she would be appreciated and respected by a station that is not so bias and preaches their Liberal agenda day after day after day after day!!!
No Vote Needed  Bush dumped 630 billion dollars in the Federal Reserve just before the House bill failed. Yes the plan is going ahead. Now the GOP will past that 700 billion dollar bailout to make a grand total of the robbery 1.330,000,000 dollars from the taxpayers. With this plan working so well look for more money to from the taxpayers before Bush leaves office.  It's so easy for the GOP to rob the US taxpayers even as people are Marching with signs.  The Mafia is jealous it's so easy.  All that needs to be done is blame Bill Clinton or the Democrats and that's enough to keep stealing from taxpayers.
Dear Brian...First of all a big thank you to you & your staff for such thorough and honest reporting.  I know & trust I always get the right information from NBC news.  Your hard work is greatly appreciated.

As far as interview questions for Sarah Palin, it's hard to know where to begin.  There are so many and every time I watch her answer questions, I am all the more puzzled.  Maybe just ask why she got herself into this mess and how she might get herself out.

With any luck, we won't have to worry about her lack of knowledge after November 4th.  After these past two weeks, I've decided to vote a straight democratic ticket!

Keep up the great work!  Thanks again.
Brian, if the democrats are for the middle class, why did  95 of them vote NO for the bailout...I don't understand why they would do this to us. I have the list of all 95 and I'm going to do my best to write each and every one of them to let them know what they've done to my 401K today and my plan for retirement at the end of this year. It's cancelled. I liked to see their term cancelled.
Brain,
I have alway is enjoyed listening to you,but here lately it seem you are presenting the most bias reprting on this very important presidential campaign and as my wife and I listtened tonight you blamed President Bush and the Republicans for the failure of the bailout bill. Well, I and my wife are glad it failed. I have my house paid for and no one had to bail me out, because I worked hard and long hours to pay for it. I borrow the money in 1970 with a small down payment. I didn't borrow what I could not pay back. I have been a consertive democrat all my life and I do not believe it is the taxpayer responible to bailout the company that liberal Democrats forced to make loans to people who could not make the payments. I talking about people like Barack Obama, who through the organization ACORN put pressure on banks to lend money to unqualified borrowers in neighbors where even the land was not worth a dime.\, but you have not reported about this. Maria Bartiromo stated on your newscast that this would be felt on main Street but I know for a fact if you qualify you can get loan so stop telling the lies. I thought your news was fair until this election, but now it is obvious NBC votes for Obama. Well, I hope you and Chuck Todd are wrong because I like democracy over Obama socialism thank you. I proudly served my country so we could stay free and I don't think that means bailout the greeding on Wall Street. So start repoting fairly. John McCain is a much better choice than Obama although it would have been better to have another choice. Someone with a deep believe in God, Country and the American people
Both Gov. Palin and Senator McCain oppose Windfall Profit Tax on Oil Companies.

In Alaska, Gov. Palin put in place a program that taxes windfall profits on Oil Companies, and returns them to the Citizens.  This "oil Refund" is the source of her hight Approval Ratings...

My question is, Why should only the citizens of Alaska benefit from a windfall profit tax on Big Oil, and not the citizens of the other 49 states?
Dear Mr. Williams,

Will you air the video of Pelosi, Frank, Waters defending the practices of Fannie and Freddie from 2004? And the doings of Frank Raines. Will you tell the people of the corruption he presided over. It was their forcing the banks to take these bad loans on that caused this? Will you air the video of McCain and many other republicans trying to put an end to this? Will you tell your audience the democrats tried to divert a portion of the returns if the bailout works to leftist groups that you are probably affiliated with?

No, you will not.
My question, As we are seeing other financial institutions buying assets from the other, would that be the best possible fix. I remember hearing ads on the radio here in Boston advertising no verification, 5 year ARM's and pay interest only, for the 5 years. I was thinking at that time, are they crazy. The issuing of these loans generated much of the profits for these companies. Currently the banks are broke with all these cheap assets that they love to buy. When the government gives them the money they'll go out and purchase those cheap assets and ride them back up and the cycle will begin again. Wall street can only save itself. As for lack of credit, people should bank locally, at a credit union for example. The people running them are involved in the local economy and are more willing to loan when they stand next to you in line at the grocery store. Think locally.
Pat (above)_

There is a good chance that some of those voters will not be re-elected.  Every member of the House of Representatives is up for election this year and one third of the Senate.

They may have voted No to keep their own jobs, not yours.

How did your Congressman/woman and Senators vote?
Pat Haley, Lake Forest, CA. Check that list and take notice of how many of the democrats who voted NO are in leadership positions.
Stephanie:  Glad you made it through the storm.

Jackie:  Glad you are back!  I never could stand Spitzer's attitude.  Glad he got caught with his pants down.   Glad you are safe.  It just didn't seem right around here without you!

Claudia and Celine:  Where are you two?

Brian:  Questions for Palin

1.  If you became VP of the USA, what would you put your most efforts into in the year 2009?    Are there any national campaigns for America you would like to spearhead to align yourself with your Country First motto?

2.  In America there seems to be a growing number of special needs children, how would you position yourself as an advocate for special needs children?

3.  Your family seems to be growing by leaps and bounds.   Will your daughter and SIL be moving into the VP House with you in DC?

4.  There are many opportunites for women these days to make a difference in the world.   How would you partner with leaders of foreign countries who are also women?

5.  In America most children are educated in the public school system, what changes would you help spearhead with regards to education?

6.  If you could re-write the law, what changes would you make in No Child Left Behind?

Bests to all!   Fasten your seat belts the best is yet to come!

I listen to her comment on YouTube when asked about the selection of the nominee for the Democrats. Yes Brian she called Obama sambo and Hillary the b word.

I'm calling BS on this lie!!! I bet you can't post a link to the video that has her saying that.
Governor,

Given that the issue of drilling was until recently a dominant part of the American political conversation, why is it that you didn't push more on the national stage for drilling in ANWR, since you support it?
We are retired 60 somethings.  We worked for over 40 years, raised our kids, educated them and retired with what we thought would be enough money to see us through.  With our investments in the toilet, and sinking deeper everyday, our esteemed Congress decides to adjourn for a much needed Jewish holiday.  God forbid that they should have to work in the face of the worst financial crisis to hit this country since the Great Depression.  I don't know about the rest of you, but I will not be voting for any encumbent on our ballot, I don't care who their opponent is, I'm voting for him/her.  And so far, Obama's plan to address the economy makes more sense than McCain's.  I'm a registered Republican, I live in Arizona and I think less of John McCain with every passing moment.
I had rather you ask OBama some simple questions , like why he will not put his hand over his heart while people are singing the national anthem. Also I still want to know WHY have you or anyother reporters not mentioned PELOSIE speech before the vote prior to the vote to bail out our finical instutions. She killed the success of the bill.
Hey, Mr. B.  I have a question for Sarah Palin.  Please explain to her that I am a 46 year old woman who has been unable to work for almost 15 years due to serious, life-threatening illness.  My husband's job ended Sept 12.  Now we are faced with having to pay for COBRA health insurance that will cost more per month than our mortgage and gas heating bills combined.  We have been thrifty and have saved as much as we could in the current economic environment but it will only go so far.  Additionally, COBRA only lasts for 18 months.   Health insurance is almost as important in our situation as a home to live in.  Without it, I most certainly will be gone in a short time.   Please ask Ms. Palin what the Republicans intend to do to ensure that someone such as myself will have the health care that is so vitally necessary to my survival.  I am not asking for a hand out, I am willing to pay my payments each month like anyone else.  But what are they going to do to make it so that someone like me can afford to stay alive?  My life now has a dollar cost on it.  Am I going to have to just give up and let go?
Mr. Williams,

Two notes on the broadcast, both having to do with pluralities. First, I believe you said "inspector general's report" when I think it is inspector's general report.  Second, mark potter referred to the "hanging chads meltdown", when I think the plural of chad is still chad, making it the hanging chad meltdown.

I guess anyone let me know if I am wrong about those two things.
I notice many are speaking of the so-called bailout.  I doubt that NBC or the MSM will feature Dodd's or Frank's sushing of concerns going back to 2003 about Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac's being used by democrat's theorists to give out free houses to bluntly unqualified, greedy 'buyers'.  Dems and NBC try to blame Republicans even as Dems are being shown more and more (even Obama's financial adviser, who got away with 90 mil) to have been the progenitors of this massive problem. The dem woman who blocked the CIA and FBI et al from talking to each other, helping the 911 terrorists, got away with 26 mil from Fannie Mae or something the like.

As far as a question for Sarah Palin, A two-pronged question for you Sarah, How did you deal with the wholesale gut-level, instinctual attacks upon you by those well entrenched journalists who some say are turf-guarding for their Eastern Establishment cohorts in the influence business?  And now that the psychological violence of all this press-assisted hate-mongering has passed for now, could you tell us in your own words just how your clearly non-D.C. approaches to our big governance questions would be beneficial to America if you and John McCain win this election?

Also, newsvine which NBC uses for commentary is terrified of hearing anything not pc, so they do lots of censoring.
Congresswomen Pelosi,
You are out of control and you should resign from your office for the political blaming stunt you just pulled.
All you did is cause more damage because as soon as everyone heard your speech things took a turn for the worse and it will take years to fix the damage done.
Support Senator McCain as he is the only one we trust that can straighten things out. A least he will give it his best shot and you can bet he will not blame anyone.
