In America

I love New York, and spend most of my work hours there -- but I've never confused it with America, where I currently am. Today in St. Paul -- is one of the most sparkling, beautiful days (speaking meteorologically and without any political bias either way, of course) of the calendar year. Yesterday upon arrival here it was gray, stormy and windy. My mother's longtime adage, "when you see the underside of the leaves, its about to storm," quickly came true, as a big front blew through, and last night's low temperature plunged to 48 degrees. Today it's breezy, sunny and 68 -- and during the exactly 17 minutes I spent outdoors, in a line to go through the Secret Service checkpoint, it was the perfect day. We're back inside the convention center, monitoring the politics of this gathering, preparing to preview tonight's convention agenda, and deciding our coverage for tonight's broadcast.

I've had the good fortune of spending quite a bit of time in St. Paul over the past few years -- and it is a great American city -- it was great to drive by the Fitzgerald Theatre last night (home of Prarie Home Companion) and Mickey's Diner (open 24 hours, filled with convention delegates 24 hours) and when the doorman at the hotel last night asked about my college-age daughter BY NAME -- and how big my son was getting -- I almost fell over dead. You've perhaps heard the expression, "Minnesota Nice." With the usual exceptions, it is true. This is a great place to visit and a great place to live.

One side benefit to being here: you get to see the commercials on both sides of the Al Franken/Norm Coleman Senate race - some are funny, some are rough. It's still...interesting...to see a guy we grew up with watching on SNL running for one of 100 seats in the U.S. Senate. It will be one of the races to watch on election night.

We hope you can join us from here tonight: both for Nightly News and our special hour on the network in prime time.

Hello Dear Wonderful Brian,

Take no heed to these comments of your "mistakes."  Your coverage is always dead on....  I think you are truly an awesome reproter, and you handle each candidate with so much respect and dignity.  You are have truly inspired me to become more active in this campaign, you have shown me how important THIS election truly is.  Keep on with the top notch reporting, you truly are the best in your biz....
Brian,
Tonight on MSNBC's post RNC coverage, you talked with Tom Brokaw and Keith Obberman and said you had two points about Gov. Palin's speech tonight. Your first was a question about her experience to be VP and the second you quoted and noted directly from blogger Joe Klein.

Why make Joe Klein's question your own without endorsing his sentiment? When did you lose your ability to create your own thoughts? Have you lost control over what you're allowed to say on air? Are the people signing your checks making you replace unverified Internet trash opinion with your own comments which used to be fair and unbiased?

I liked you. I respected you. Now I'm not sure if I should anymore.
You were funny on "The Daily Show" this week. But here's why I watch that show over yours sometimes - the video montages. Why is it that a basic cable show with nowhere near the resources of NBC News can put together such devastating video clips showing the utter hypocrisy of campaign spokespeople slamming Hillary for claiming sexism, then claiming it for Sarah a few weeks later? Watch Thursday's Daily Show to see what I mean. Hypocrisy needs exposing - on either side of the political arena. Why aren't you doing it? Go buy a few TiVos. Your viewers will benefit.
Dear Brian,

You've done a wonderful job on both of the conventions. The first one furnished such hope for a new political dialogue in this country, while this one is, sadly, trying to pull us back to the same  miserable place. Watching the fat cats wave their cowboy hats again sure seems like more of the same...as does Sarah Palin. She's just the old rhetoric in a new package.

Reporters have looked at Palin’s paucity of foreign travel, but I haven’t heard anyone examine how much she’s seen of the United States. Apart from attending a few Republican or business conferences (which I assume she has done), how much has she actually seen of her own country? For example, has she ever been in one of those poor neighborhoods that need the community organizers she disparaged tonight?

Get on it, my friend!

Thanks for the great job you do,
Jan

Dear Mr. Brain!
I have never been to America how i can get a trip to your lands.

Sincerely yours Helen
Dear Brian and NBC,

Let's have a comment from the South. I am a 47 year old mother of two boys. And a Grandmother of three. I believe that women deserve the right to make the choice of what they want to do. Work outside the home or stay home with their kids. Let's keep the choice, and leave it up to very capable women who have proved over time that they are responsible, examples to their children. Palin and her husband run their house, it seems, together and both are caring and loving parents. I am proud to be a women who helped pave the way for that "choice". Accept it and live with it because women are here to stay in powerful positions. This choice is hers and hers only and I support her 100%.

Discuss her qualifications but do not attack her decision to run...as a mother. I am proud to be a part of a multitude of women who have made their own choices.
I am one of many undecided voters, most anxious for the vice presidential candidate selections, believing that in this election the VP choices would play a significant role in determining many undecided voters decisions.  I am not a fan of the Democratic/Republican national conventions, (was never a cheerleader) I made the conscious decision to watch both conventions with an open mind in the hope of finding a candidate I could support.  At this point my vote is for none of the above.  NONE of these candidates have proven their credentials or worthiness to be president of our great country.

Now a few musings.......
1.  I wish Tina Fey was still on Saturday Night Live, I think she could do an awesome Sarah Palin impersonation.  Anybody else see the resemblance, the gestures?

2.  Will Cindy McCain be 1st lady and nanny to Sarah Palin's infant son? Bristol Palin’s baby too perhaps?

3.  Did I miss the coverage of the suit color check for Sarah Palin or did the networks choose not to show it?  Was a bad color choice, made her look washed out, pale and weak, my guess not the look they were going after.  And that ugly orange tie on Sentor McCain, that was just a fashion DON’T!

4.  Was amazing how much better I could hear the speeches without Brian & company talking over them, thanks guys!

5.  Rudy Guiliani, he played his role of hench man quite well, but really folks that is his tried and true role.  I know it is because I was there on 9/11, one of the many lucky ones who escaped from a neighboring building to the Towers after a long descent from an upper floor, but I really resent the implications by Mr. Guiliani that a McCain presidency would continue to keep us safe.  Excuse me?  It was this current administration that was asleep at the wheel that missed telltale information that just possibly could have prevented the World Trade Center tragedy in the first place.  And we should want to continue on that course?  Thanks but no thanks.  One other point on Rudy Guiliani, yes he was catapulted to national attention by how he handled the initial response to the towers tragedy, however, many people outside of NY do not know that prior to 9/11, Guiliani was a lame duck mayor, hugely unpopular, with many people/media outlets running a countdown until he would be out of office.  Amazing how history can be revised.

My advice, fasten your seatbelts folks as this is going to be one ugly, nasty election.
It doesn't appear that Mr. Williams (or ANYONE in the MSM) will be covering the arrest and detention of "Democracy Now" host Amy Goodman for daring to question the St. Paul police (as they were raiding a house) about why they were conducting raids on the homes of people who were involved in organizing and planning peaceful protests outside the RNC. She and her crew were roughly manhandled, despite their repeated attempts to let the police know that they were accredited journalists covering the event. Follow the link from Glenn Greenwald's page at Salon.com to find out more. Care to mention that at all, Brian? This is NOT America!
I have never written to you or anybody before, but now I feel compelled to. I have been watching the Evening News for more years than I can remember. There was a time when it was balanced. There was a time when the acts of the "Greatest Generation" appeared to have influenced you all in a positive way. You have dropped the ball. It is sad to think that you may now even applaud the burning of our flag and find a way to rationalize it.
Brian & Associates,
I'm begging already. Please cover Sarah Palin's environmental policies - her aerial wolf and bear hunting, her disbelief in global warming, her support of oil drilling. And please pass the request along to your buddies at the Today Show. ALL we hear about is her daughter's pregnancy while these crucial issues languish, voiceless. Thanks Brian.
Last night, you had just a few seconds of comments on the Sarah Palin speech.  In that time, you decided to nearly call her a hypocrite about her rising fame compared to Obama's.  Instead of being positive(or just middle of the road) you decided to go for the negative.  Sarah Palin rallied the GOP and you picked one line to go after her.
Brian and NBC,

NBC has always been a favorite network of mine.  I watched the Today show and the Nightly News religiously.  However, I can no longer listen and watch the negative and discriminatory journalism that is being spoken throught NBC.  When I watch the news, I want to hear the good, bad, and ugly.  But, you as well as other NBC journalists are only showing the good of the left and the bad of the right.  Please, let the American people decide on their own and reserve your own opinions on matters.  The American people are smarter than you give us credit for and I like to make my own decisions based on unbiased news reporting.

Letting the "Big Three" news anchors deny media bias on TV this morning was like letting the fox guard the henhouse. Sure Palin should be investigated because she is new to national politics--but we are talking the Pres. & V.P. here. Obama & Biden should be put to the same test, which they are not. Go back and look at the "Big Three" coverage of the conventions. The Dems was all wonderful, all about unity etc. The Reps has been nothing but "they could have a problem with this pick, what do they mean the angry left etc. Apparently you have never watched Keith Oberman. And by the way Brian, remember during an interview with James Carville during the Clinton scandals you called Carville "Buddy"? I do. You exposed your bias then just as you do now.
Brian, I read in Wikipedia that Sarah Palin and her husband were members of the Alaska Independent Party and supported the succession of Alaska from the Union! It also noted that Palin as governor had welcomed the AIP convention to Fairbanks recently! I now see that this information has been removed from Wikipedia. I've also read that the Alaska Independent Party is compared to or a clone of the Libertarian Party. What's your take on all of this and why has this information suddenly vanished?

I've tried watching NBC, but I just can't. Why aren't you attacking Biden's son who is getting sued? Why aren't you asking Obama about taking time away from his kids? Is Michelle Obama proud of her country now? At least Gov. Palin's daughter is not walking away from her responsibilties. That's right, liberals, not responsible for anything! I think you need someone else to write your questions for you!
Is it possible that you re-release the Nightly Netcast because it was only 11 minutes long and the video podcast abruptly breaks during the conversation with Richard Haass of the Council on Foreign Relations. It was interesting to see the conversation. Normally a broadcast is about 20 minutes long so you cut 9 minutes out of the video podcast.
Dear Brian,
I listened with interest as you, Tom Brokaw and others tried to convince your viewers that the press is really not liberal biased, just doing your job and presenting the facts the way they really are.
Your reporter on the ground in Wasilla, AK reported how much the residents were behind Sarah Palin and that it was difficult to find anyone who was not a supporter.--- But Low and behold, even tho you may have had to talk to 500 people before you found one that had something negative to say about Sarah Palin-that was the one you featured on your nightly news broadcast.  I can't hear what you say, Brian, for what you do!
Being a native of Montana, might I suggest you take the time to find out what those folks at the Big Sky Speedway think about Sarah Palin and her family, and the way the press has protrayed her.  You seem to need a reality check, but then the press is usually the last one to get it.

Brian, I am so disappointed in your inability to provide unbiased coverage during these conventions. I count on you to give me all of the information on both sides, and let me decide for myself. Now, I have to look to other sources to provide information - the good and the bad - so I can make an informed decision in this election. You have been so professional in the past... what's happening? I am no media pawn, and I will make decisions based on the information I can gather on these candidates. And now I can't trust NBC for providing that.
Brian, Did Gov. Palin say that the Iraq war was a mission from God ? Am I the only one who is disturbed by  that ?
This actually applies to All the networks (CBS, CNN, ABC & NBC).  DO YOUR JOB!  News organizations are supposed to report the news, not glorify one candidate, while exposing another.  I have heard basically only negative reporting on Mrs. Palin for the last 5 days, while Mr. Obama has never been pressed to reveal ANY info on Rezko, Rev. Wright, Ayers, lack of ANY accomplishments...) Please, report the news, BOTH SIDES!
Dear Brian & Co.:

Thanks for not caving to the RNC screams about bias.  Think about this.  If Biden was the Annointed One for the Dems, and he announced ONE DAY before the DNC that Barack Obama would be his VP, the press and "angry right" would be having a field day that would put the Sarah Palin coverage to shame.  Instead, all of those lies and innuendoes, and, yes, even the scandals such as his pastor, were weeded out months and months ago as the candidate became fully vetted.

Now the Republicans spring a completely unknown quantity on the American public 2 months before the election and expect us not to be exceedingly curious about just who this woman is and what her values are?  So far, I've learned that she has some very admirable accomplishments, but I can't for the life of me figure out how anyone thought she was ready for the second most powerful job in the world, and the person who would step into the number one spot should anything happen to our president.  When considering a four time cancer survivor who will be 72-76 years old during his potential term, you HAVE to look a lot closer at the person who would step into his shoes.

I'm middle of the road, and I think a lot of voters are right there with me.  Sarah Palin so far right that it scares me to think of her in charge of our country.  I could have voted for McCain.  I cannot vote for a ticket that has a better than average chance of resulting in a "religious right" president.  Just as unsettling is the fact that Karl Rove ripped up Virginia governor Tim Kaine as a VP choice for the Dems that would prove that the Dems "are not concerned first and foremost with if this person is capable of being president of the United States" because he's only been a governor for 3 years and before that he was mayor of only the 105th largest city in the country.  Now he's trying to tell me that a governor with less than two years of experience who was the former Mayor of Mayberry is more qualified than Biden, Obama, OR McCain?  REALLY?

I'm also wondering when the Republicans are going to quit whining about press coverage and tell me concrete facts about what they would do about the economy, the war, and the energy crisis...other than keep giving money to the rich and telling the rest of us that the recession is all in our imaginations and we're doing just fine with lower salaries and higher costs of living on every front.

Can anyone say "Out of Touch?"
Brian,

You were the last bastion of hope for nbc and msnbc. I always thought so highly of you. Until last night. In your interview after the Palin speech you looked liked your were just notified of a death in the family. Not only your comments, but just the look on your face betrayed you as having the same bias as obey and the rest. Very disappointing but at least I now that you can't call it like you see it. It was a tremendous speech. Particularly given the treatment given by you and your colleagues leading up to it. Everyone saw it.  You would have helped your DNC and NBC ratings cause more by simply saying so. You outed yourself. Now how can I or anyone else trust your judgement to report on issue and events objectively that I myself haven't seen it its entirety.
Hi Brian,
I agree! Pay no attention to those people who watch you & don't know good, solid journalistic excellence when they see it! We NEED to know everything about Palin, etc. & I'm sure that I (we) can continue to count on you & the NBC News department to fill us in. Thanks so much!
<<<Brian, Did Gov. Palin say that the Iraq war was a mission from God ? Am I the only one who is disturbed by  that ?>>>

I saw that clip, too, and anyone with even just half a brain should be disturbed by that.
Keith O is sending your company down the toilet, but he at least has the guts to come out the state his beliefs. At the end of Palin's speech the Anchor "Journalist" runs down the talking points from a Blog...that way "He" didn't say it, just reporting the "news".  Fifty years from now, journalism students will be study this period as the "time that journalism went dormant".  Hopefully it will return some day.
I’ve have to come to the conclusion that I am no longer able to watch NBC and MSNBC News. The reporting is so bias and unfair; you all have crossed the line and no longer report the facts fairly.  It is so obvious that you are all supporters of Obama and want your audience to do the same.  This is quite disappointing; you no longer have the integrity and capability of some of previous and well known newscasters and reporters such as Brokaw and others before him. It is sad to see how our media has taken a road in which sometimes they themselves report on other societies not quite allowing the correct or/and unbiased information get reported to their people of all the facts to persuade them to their side.  Our media no longer reports the truth; their reports consist of information that is sensationalized, blown out of proportion, and taken out of content just to get precious ratings. We can decide for ourselves the media’s job is to report the facts fairly and unbiased.  It is an insult to the American people intelligence!
As long as I've been alive, having been a serious leftist during the sixties, then slowly learning my college education was destructive rather than helpful, I've slowly become more civilized.  I'm so shocked at the overt hatred displayed by all the networks, most especially by NBC, and even Brian Williams last night.  Even Brian's smooth cover was ruffled to the point that I saw all I needed to see to know that he's just as highly biased as the rest of NBC.  Now, no longer trusted at all.

Palin is real.  NBC is filled with shape-shifters.  I'm so happy to finally see it so more clearly than I could before. She is from the People.  NBC is from the Ivy-League upper class whose interests they must guard. The People aren't part of the equation, unless blind following of the big-city corrupt political machine men of the demos is what you mean. Brian by your slavish cheer-leading for Obama has finally come into focus for me.  Brian's winning personality is really just his cover.  I guess that's his ticket, but a ticket to nowhere as I've joined the millions who no longer trust the ABC, CBS, NBC turf-guarding for the rich Eastern Establishment crowd.
Brian,

As a Minnesota native, and someone who works in downtown St. Paul, I wanted to say thanks for recognizing that New York is not America.  I too love NY.  But it's not America.

Also, you ought to know that we Minnesotans consider the weather of the last few days to be a bit chilly.  But that's definiely not compared to what out-of-towners think.  I saw Fred Barnes in Starbucks this morning with a North Face winter jacket on.  Come one!  It above 55 degrees outside.

Dear Brian,

Will the evening news tonight cover the overheard conversation of Chuck Todd, Mike Murphy and Peggy Noonan on MSNBC Convention coverage last night.
We certainly were treated to Jesse Jackson's
overheard remarks about Barack Obama often enough.
Two republican anylysts getting caught telling the truth is newsworthy.
The Daily Show actually had a delegate at the Republican convention on Tuesday night who was blaming the so called left wing media for the Hurricane Gustav coverage, who cares if people are getting rained on, he said.  This left wing media canard is getting old, what about lying right wing talkers who permeate the radio airways.  Righties can't handle the truth, they just whine about the media. There has been plenty of inaccurate garbage in the mainstream media against Obama.

I suggest that everyone check out the utube overheard
conversation of Chuck Todd and Republican strategists
Peggy Noonan and Mike Murphy, very illuminating!
Brian, Why does everyone refer to Obama as the first black nominee instead of the first by-racial nominee. Doesn't he have a Caucasian mother and wasn't he partially raised by his caucasian Grandparents? Isn't calling him Black a slap in the face to Caucasians?
Dear Mr. Williams:
I am a regular watcher of your NBC News Nightly News broadcasts, but I was disappointed in your choice of words used in your closing yesterday (9/3/08), when you stated that Sarah Palin would be "on display tonite".  Do you feel she is some sort of mannequin?
dap
There you go again...

Why did you feel the need to give "a little extra" space in your blog to the Democratic candidate from Minnesota? Surely you can see how some will take that as an endorsement. Was it meant to be code?

Dear Brian,
Goodbye NBC and affiliates!!! I wonder what Mr. Tim Russert would think of all your anchors bias  coverage this election. Your network is a disgrace to Real American Families!!!  This household and many others in our community will no longer watch or promote this network ever again !
My comment is not about you personally, but I am very upset over the coverage of the Deomocratic Convention.  I watched to see the speeches, but you talked during most of them. Your opinion is not more important than what they were saying.  We cannot judge a candidate on opinion.  We ended up watching on PBS.  Last night you showed both speeches without talking over them.  Which is what you should have done for Hillary, Bill and Obama.  Keep it fair and let us make our decisions based on what they have to say.
Sarah Palin was so mean and snotty last night.
I agree with Krissy.....  Her utter disregard for the hard work of Community Organizers, The people that are down in the ditches helping the impoverished to impower themselves. (Maybe because Community Organizers are usually pro-labor, pro-union folks?)  While I am not a Community Organizer, I am a community activist and I work with community organizers.  I am offended that she is Mccain's choice, She is not a woman's candidate.

I personally did want to hear what Brian, Kieth, Tom and Chuck Todd had to say, it is why i watch NBC.    I need these guys to cut through the spin!!!

AND it is the Media's job to show us what the candidate is hiding.......  Palin and McCain are not playing fair!!!  And we have to discuss her as a person, because she has no real qualifications.  Your son deploying does not make you a foreign policy expert (as a surrogate said on MSNBC).  I guess that would make me, a Disabled veteran, my sister, a veteran, and my deployed 19 year old brother qualified to be Veep too.
Brian, please see if you can get an answer. If Palin is 100% pro life, no matter the circumstances, why would she have an amniosentesis? I don't know the answer, but would like to hear it. I thought that was a test usually taken by older women who were about to have a child and it would show different issues, such as child with needs issues.
Brian and NBC - I have been a viewer of NBC News for over 40 years. However, after all the biased reporting on political candidates, I have decided enough was enough. I will no longer be tuning in.
Hi Brain, I like watching your news cast, but feel the media is so bias against the republicans I can hardly watch.  We know you guys are favor the democrats but please be fair to all in this campaign.  You can say there will be change in one form or another know matter who wins.  Thanks
I am a long time viewer and fan, and agree with those who think you are still providing us with excellent coverage of important issues regarding this campaign (e.g., Mike from Mechanicsburg)  But I wonder why no one in the media has covered the police tactics and abuses being used in St. Paul this past week.  Over 300 journalists being hauled off to jail ... cameras and gear stripped from credentialed reporters ... homes broken into without warrants to challenge those who wished to document dissenters.  Is this China or the US?  Please do SOMETHING from that position of fair reporting you are in as a national journalist yourself.
Dear Brian,
I'm not going to bash you or your news station or any other for their unbiased editorials that are shoved in our faces on a daily basis.  The sad fact is that we all need to realize that whoever gets elected on Nov. 4, 2008 there is not going to be any real quick fixes.  It is going to take at least three years and we will have new candidates and it will start all over again, and guarantee issues will not be resolved.  We the public should be the ones at these press conferences asking the questions of what the candidates true platform is and not what is going to get them into the office.  Scary fact, more people will in fact vote for Obama just because Oprah said she is.
Something else that I find puzzling is the investigation against Palin for using her position to have her brother-in-law removed.  Has noone not thought that possibly he has used his position to harass his ex-wife or is that unheard of that a cop would never do such a thing.  Maybe we should ask Al Sharpton if he has ever heard of such activities.  Here's the kicker this guy has a gun.  If he is unfit he should not be an officer and tarnish those who are serving the public honestly.
I am so glad to see the Evangelical members of the Republican party finally support more mainstream social attitudes. By showing their complete acceptance of the out-of-wedlock pregnancy of Sarah Palin's daughter, they have shown that even devout christians can disobey commandments against adultry. We've come a long way in America. Wait, I may be wrong! What if they're doing so, because they want the Republicans to win? Well, I'm sure they'll start following God's laws after the election. I'm sure lying will be ok too!
I like Gov. Palin. She is a refreshing change.
Yet on another note I was surprised about the voles story. It would be interesting to find out if this "gene" is widespread in the Gay community. It would help explain why Gay men are less likely to have a permaent partner. I have found more lesbian couples than gay men. Most gay men are looking for the next conquest. I find they keep trying to recuit me. I am simply celiabate. Simply something unheard of these days.
You're doing a great job.  I endure Pat Buchanan so I can listen to you, Rachel, and others - who seem to cover a broad range of opinions.  I can't tell anyone's political/voting inclinations (except Pat and Rachel) from the way your team reports.  Don't let the right wing bully you out of investigating and reporting on Palin - she doesn't have the intellect or worldview for national leadership.  A McPalin administration is a scary prospect, bought and paid for by Big Oil.  And just because Cheney's out of the country, don't think he and Rove don't continue to pull the strings.  We're on the verge of turning into Nazi Germany if the Republicans can quash our press and continue to lie baldly about the Democratic agenda.
Brian,
For the management of NBC to place yourself and Tom Brokaw on the same stage as Keith Olbermann on MSNBC must send shivers down your spines. A large part of MSNBC is a network of the so called talking heads, not for serious members of the profession you represent.

Keith is a partisan and often comes across as downright bitter. To associate MSNBC with you and Tom cannot be helpful to the profession that you and your predecessors have so respectfully built.

I imagine it is an attempt to improve the bottom line of MSNBC.  One's reputation should be considered when considering the bottom line.

I will no longer watch the Nightly News with Brian Willians. Watching the Giants/Redskins game on NBC break away to Brian Williams at the GOP convention and Mr. William's comment of "Go Blue" a blatant comment for the democratic party, I lost all respect for the show and the anchor. A reporter is supposed to report the news, not make any attempt to influence the news. Too many people in the media do not know the difference. I can think for and decide for myself and I get very angry when someone like Brian Williams attempts to influence my thinking and even worse acts like I'm ignorant if I disagree with his views. Fortunately I have the ultimate weapons, the channel changer and the on/off switch. Mr. Williams you will be permentally turned OFF.
Dear Brian, I watch you every weeknight without fail, I think you are the best anchor because you are real, not fake, you're funny, I love the humor, we need to lighten up in this country. As for all these people who say they will never watch you again, good, who needs them, they are negative, angry people anyway. You are doing a fantastic job reporting the news, if Obama is in the news and shown in a positive light that's only because he IS a postive. When he becomes President in a landslide this Nov (yes, I said a landslide, you heard it here first) they will either have to support him or deal with it.I had to deal with Bush for eight years, I survived! Hey, that would make a great tee shirt!    A loyal NBC/MSNBC viewer forever
Just finished a watching very biased episode of NBC Nightly news. You all bring up the story of the Jet and point out that Palin did put the jet on ebay, "but that's not the whole story." As if to destroy her credibility you point out the fact that it didn't sell on ebay. It was sold by a private contractor. Which really misses the point. The point is Palin still got rid of the jet. I just never knew NBC was so biased. That was just one example of many situations I watched through the broadcast. I think alot of people will change stations, or start going to the internet for the news if those things continue. And I read the other posts about "if Palin wanted to protect her daughters privacy, she shouldn't have excepted the nomination." All people judging Palin are just afraid, because that woman is a REAL FORCE TO RECKON WITH. She has not complained about the media. She has a STRONG FAMILY and they can handle it. One more thing my wife is 44 and never voted, or had a desire to engage in politics until this year. I had her watch the DNC and the RNC. She talks about the difference in the two audiences. The crowd at the DNC has "crazy eyes" they look to Obama with desperation, as though he is the saviour. Just like Hitler said people are more likely to believe a "great big lie" than the truth. Be not decieved people. Do you really think OBAMA cares about You? or is it that you just HATE REPUBLICANS?
Wow. Just wanted to weigh in a bit. First, the media has always had a bias. It's just easier to see as there are a variety of opinions and sources. I don't hear (enough)complaints about what passes for 'reporting' from extreme-right sources like Fox. The New York thing was cute; we're not America, we're where America wants to go, and what the future holds, good and bad. It's sad that too many, including Gov. Palin, hide behind their femininity. Ask Putin how "deferential" he'll be with her. Or ask Ahmedinijad. And to all the "educated" viewers who'll no longer watch NBC or MSNBC, I guess your education will never be complete, as you ignore facts as they suit you. America will never rise again with intellectuals like that.
