That Barack Obama is a lying hypocrite. When he pulled his children on NBC Access Hollywood he regretted it. But when he dragged his kids in front of millions at the DNC his kids were utilized for the vote's sake. He is a lying hypocrite who doesn't deserve to be elected in November. Huge shame on Barack Obama the hypocrite.

Also NBC don't use Luke Russert like you used Ron Reagan Jr. You gave Reagan a short-running show with Monica Crowley and than cancelled it. Now you suck out the blood of one of your former talent's kid and obviously do it again with Tim Russert's son.

This DNC is the largest mass-staged event in American politics. It's so phony and hypocritical. Also the network news won't gather information and create news, they only use the material they get delivered from the hypocritical Obama campaign.

Shame on Main Stream Media.
Brian Williams will not be blogging today because he is exhausted from screaming over the din of the convention.  Good God, put that man in some kind of booth!
I am disturbed about the blase mention of civilian deaths in Afghanistan, 30 of them children. This is not a "ho-hum" matter. If you are waiting for more information, please cite that. Never present deaths of civilians as insignificant. It would be better not to report it at all if you don't have sufficient information to explain how such a ragic event occurred.

I am seething as I watch tonite's NBC nightly news,,, Hillary Clinton is being discussed for speaking at tonite's DNC and for some reason, two men that are doing the discussing have the audacity to show the different colors of jackets that Hillary might choose for tonite's big event.  Correct me, if I am wrong, but when was the last time NBC showed, or any other news network for that matter, showed different outfits for a male politician that is as important and intelligent as Hillary Clinton?  This was unbelievable to me as a woman.  Wow, you guys really don't get it, do you????  I thought I was watching a Barbie Doll Fashion Show.  Pleassssse, I watch you for the intelligent news you bring not whether or not a female politician is wearing the proper pumps.  Hillary is one of the classiest, well-spoken, educated, gutsy females that I feel honored to have voted for and am very glad she is in the Senate.  She deserves better than what nightly news feels they should "cheapen" by what she wears when it really is much more than the wardrobe, guys.  If I was not fuming before, thanks for throwing gas on my fire again for Hillary.  Unbeliebable!

Please put Brokaw out to pasture.  He is a shadow of his former self.
Throughout his broadcast from the Democratic Convention last evening, with co-hosts by his side, we could only think of Tim Russert, and his huge smile and presence missing from the event. With hope, he will be remembered by Brian on-air throughout the convention.

Hi,
I was watching coverage for Hillary's speech and I noticed that Brian Williams accidentally called Hillary "President Clinton" after her speech.
Maybe Brian was expressing the wishes of some of us out in televisionland?
Oh, Brian.

"The speech PRESIDENT Clinton just gave"??!!
Granted, she sounded Presidential...but that was quite the gaffe.
Trains, helicopters, ocean liners! Jocularity! Chris, Keith, Brian and Tom--you are all nuts! Delightfully so! That was so funny! Thanks for the chuckles! Toot, toot! See you all again tomorrow!

But the world goes on. To all: please check out Jim Maceda's "Biggest Fear" post on Tuesday's World Blog. Very thought provoking.

And Jackie-- that was one heckuva speech Hillary gave us! Good for her. She'll be a force to reckon with in the future.

Take care all-
Hi Brian
I stayed up to watch my girl Hillary and girlfriend did great. I know because Hillary has a strong driver personality and has a lot of class most don't like her because they don't have what she does. She silenced the all those who said she couldn't pull it off. Hillary kicked butt tonight and woman are stronger for it. As Hillary honored the 19th Amendment I know career woman like Andrea Mitchell praised her because without that bill woman wouldn't have career jobs. The grapevine information was correct about the Universal Health Care Plan and as Hillary said what were her supporters fighting for. As for me it's that Health Care and I'm glad she will keep her promise. I watched Hillary's speech with some soldiers and my daughter. It's funny to hear young men praise a woman and admire her. Some bloggers still dislike Hillary but it's part of the usual propaganda we've become use to.

To bad the RNC didn't elect Cindy McCain as their candidate now that's another strong smart lady who know finance. Cindy is going to Georgia in the middle of the conflict to make sure her investments in the pipe line are safe. No wonder McCain doesn't know what the family owns or anything about Economy as Cindy is the brains and this trip shows just how smart she is.

The new Russian President seems to be holding his own and showing great leadership. North Korea feels left out again so they just might back track on those agreements they made with the US about the Nukes.

I read the Iran President will be visiting the UN in Sept. I hope he's treated better this time around. Maybe the US can show him the same respect Iran show the NBC News crew when he was interviewed by Brian Williams. Well we'll see what happens.

To my friends Lisa, Laurel, Stephanie, Claudia, Celine, Anna and Matt the best as always
I am livid that NBC thought the over hashed drivel of commentors was more important than airing the speech of Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer.  Governor Schweitzer obviously electrified the crowd and from the cheering in the background his words met with great approval.  This Montanan would have liked to have had the opportunity to hear what our terrific governor had to say.  Shame on you NBC!
Just wanted to say your coverage of the DNC is much better than CNN they are so negative.  However, Pat Buchanan is hurting your rating.  Why MSNBC have him as a commentator?  He still talk like he is in the 60's.  He comes across very negative to me. I am tired of all the negative comments by all cable networks.  The NPR is only news network report just the facts.  Cable news are getting more like the National Enquirer and Star Magazine tabloids. Chris, Brian, Keith, Joe, and David are the BOMB I like their coverage.
One of the many "uncles" to Luke Russert needs to sit him down and guide him on some "must do" items for reporting on a major network be it tv or internet.  Watching one of his reports on the internet I was immediately struck by how sloppy and unkempt he looked.  It is not acceptable to have the tie loosened and/or the top button undone.  Make the decision to either wear a tie or not but the look he had was unprofessional and that of an amateur.  You do him no favors but letting him slide on standards that are expected of everyone else.
I was very surprised that so little was reported on Senator McCain's comments on The Tonight Show the other night.  Yes, there is absolutely no doubt in anyone's mind that Senator McCain is an American hero for his military service to our country.  Perhaps that is why his comments on the show using his time as a POW  as an excuse about not knowing how many homes he and his wife own seemed all the more ridiculous.  Yesterday when speaking about the end of the Cold War he invoked his POW time yet again.  The more he does that the more lame, out of touch and undesirable a candidate he becomes.  Is the fact that he was a POW going to be his excuse for any and all mistakes he makes?  If that truly were acceptable, than the "Greatest Generation" as Tom Brokaw refers to them would never have accomplished all that they have after World War II.
Marc Schulz,  if you are from Germany don't worry about what goes here in the US -- worry about Germany.
I agree with Karen from PA, was it really necessary to show the tape of the color check of clothes for Senator Clinton?  Is it that the media has so little true news to report at the convention that you feel the need to make such a sexist display?  Yes the former television series The West Wing did have a brief scene in one episode of looking at neckties for which color popped on camera but that was make believe. I expect a full dissection of what Senator Obama is wearing on Thursday night, fair is fair after all.

Overall I have been disappointed in the convention coverage by NBC.  There has been too much fluff and descriptive editorializing for example the comments on how Senator Kennedy looked.  The man is battling brain cancer and against the advice of doctors insisted on appearing at the convention.  Those attending the convention would not have cared if he had worn his robe and slippers!  There are many among us who are not dealing with such adversity that look far worse than Senator Kennedy.  Why does NBC feel the need to put people down and tear them apart so much?  Is that what you consider good journalism?
Brian doesn't blog for one day, and none of the regulars show up?

Here I am - I saw the broadcast last night.  I just think its amazing that after all the globe trotting that Brian's done over the past few weeks and months, his inability to blog doesn't happen more often!

I also hear that Charles Gibson has a blog now.  He's moving up in the world!  :)
Watching the speech by Hilary was painful. She and Bill need to step aside. That speech was all about Hilary and her hoped-for future legacy. Note that during the segment when she said she was proud to be a mother, proud to be a Democrat, etc., there was no mention that she was proud to be the wife of the ex-President Bill Clinton! The Press concluded that Hilary was putting her support behind Barak Obama. Though there were strong hints of that, it was not as genuine and heartfelt as the press would have us believe. She repeatedly referred to "I" and her recent push for the presidential nomination and all the things she stands for. Though she supposedly wants her supporters to transfer her campaign messages and her votes to Mr. Obama, the message went on deaf ears to many of her flock of supporters. Now we have to listen to Bill tonight expound on his accomplishments (versus the Republicans), his legacy, his support for his wife and her political aspirations, and his questionable support for a united Democratic Party. Sorry folks, it's still about the Clintons and their arrogant need and desire for power, prestige and legacy. Please, do the world a favor: step aside and let the new leadership take this country by storm.
Brian,I watched your commentary last night at the convention and it was the best of the networks easily please keep the honesty in it because no one else does.
Will you please cancel Morning Joe I don't know what happen with joe but he's losing it I used to like his show alot but he acts like he's drunk and if you have a differnt opinion look out and he is cutting down the network and people that work there.
Brian -

I am amazed - not once in the previous messages does anyone mention the real reason that the Clintons should not be involved in the convention.

Bill Clinton was IMPEACHED.  If not for the Senate vote he would have been removed from office.

Even now, his mysterious income from speeches in foreign lands and various hucksters is thwarting the FBI et. al in their investigation of his finances and his Clinton Library patrons.

C'mon folks, we are well rid of this couple - they are bad news and bad citizens.

Joan
to: g`eglesiasnepa. I have the right to worry about what's happening in the US. We are in a globalized society where domestic decisions by politicians effect also foreign countries. If Obama becomes President his protectionism of economy will hurt German companies to do business in the US. Also if Obama wants more troops from Germany for Afghanistan that effects also Germany. Also 60 million Americans have German ancestors. So it's important for a foreigner to be interested in the US elections and sometimes uncover mistakes by a candidate in the race. So I have to voice my concerns / critique of Barack Obama / John McCain and the American politics as a whole. Also NBC Nightly News is a global newscast which is broadcasted in the US and on local editions of CNBC / MSNBC in Africa, Australia, India and Europe and the Middle East. By the way, in Germany journalists are daring to criticize German politicians hard unlike in the US where so-called journalists like "Keith Olbermann" and "Bill O'Reilly" are catering to their respective parties. German journalists can ask tough questions so I don't need to worry about Germany and can focus on the American media. Also Germany is now in a pretty good situation with good marks in economy, foreign policy and education, health unlike the United States of America. Germany has excellent relations with the US, Arabic countries and China, unlike the US has with Arabic countries.
Brian, I am missing Tim Russert more than ever.  His passion for the truth, his love of the political world that is democracy at its worst and best. The twinkle in his eye as he told us what his thoughts were on the events of the day, the week.  He wasn't just a talking head; he wanted us to care as much as he did about how we get things done in a democracy; he wanted to inspire us to pay attention to what the people we elect do in office and call them to task when necessary. Oh how I wish he were here for this history-making, and no matter the outcome, a history-changing election. We have not found his true replacement yet.
I am normally a huge MSNBC fan and look forward to Brian Williams and Tom Brokaw analysis.  But I have been very disapointed in the Convention coverage so far and have gone to C-SPAN because, Keith, David and Rachel (sometimes Chris) keep talking/opining thru most of the speeches. (the others can barely get a word in. and Chuck only speaks when asked.) They completely talked thru John Kerry and the Montana Gov speech (which livened the crowd after Warner's dry speech) and the banter is often silly and laced with sarcasm  (IS EVERYONE ADOPTING THE FOX NETWORK STYLE NOW???)

Brian I appreciate your professionalism and was completely won over by your Katrina coverage but this MSNBC Coverage is now becoming a circus and discredits Tim Russerts', Tom Brokaw's, and your legacy.  Please have them tone this rhetoric down and give the facts, and let us form our own opinions!!!!!!
I had to laugh my butt when Brian said, "we have to be even steven" when covering hurricane Gustavo or MCcain's veep pic. HA HA HA..Even steven, MSNBC is so in the tank for Obama it's rediculous. They don't even try to hide it anymore .What a joke. The german, Marc Shultz is the only person that made any sense. The rest of you are brainless dolts.
