Short post today, in keeping with my firm belief that one shouldn't post while sleepwalking. I'm also avoiding farm machinery.

We landed at JFK earlier today. We're now gathered in the newsroom to put together the broadcast. Allow me please to publicly thank the members of our travel team who worked so hard to get us on television. I didn't think it was possible to respect my friends and co-workers anymore than I already did.

Please pay special attention to George Lewis's segment tonight -- he's one of our greats, and has a very personal story to tell.

We hope you can join us tonight -- we're happy to be back home.

Glad your home and safe Brian
I did comment and read the information about George, I was surprised by his illness, but he's in my prayers.

Now while you were in the air and sleeping.
Karl Rove will get the jail free card most likely from Pelosi who will never prosecute anyone from the Bush Administration. It's obvious why Pelosi and Feinstein cooperate with the White House as their husband get big Government Contracts.

Now as for the White House plan to help homeowners well just one problem. This Bill is for the chosen few as the rest of Americans are on their own. Most Americans who lost their homes and jobs will have to pay to make sure the chosen few Americans that the Government picks to help keep their homes. Remember how the DOJ picked employees Monica Goodling and Kyle Sampson made sure only loyal Republicans who didn't mine committing crimes got jobs at the DOJ.

As for the McCain ad with Obama/Britney/Paris well that shows Americans how bad off McCain is right now. He wants to drill in California and bring the Big One aka Earthquake and finish off the West Coast. It's all about the Oil Company from Iraq to the US. I was impressed with Obama taking up the problems we have in the USA. I liked it when he said if we can give Iraq 10 billion a week we should be able to give to American citizens. Senator Ted Stevens will need to call in those markers with this problem, as we learn he even made illegal deals with Pakistan. Ted has been a very busy stealing and committing fraud for so long he might not remember now.

Obama was right when he said he met World Leaders and other who might replace them. Israel is one of them.
PM Olmert is a criminal leader who is doing the right thing by stepping down, now if Bush had only done that in 2001. We saw Nixon hang in there until he knew he would be impeached so he to quickly skipped out. Bush and Cheney were smart to pull other Law Makers into their web as to make sure they aren't charged for their crimes in the US. To bad the United Nations now has proof of War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity committed by the Bush Administration.

I will admit I have learned more about Foreign Countries and the inter working of the US Government in the pass 7 years. I did pay attention during the previous years but I guess other then Nixon we didn't have as many crooks as Law Makers. At lease if asked about what countries boarder Afghanistan my answer Iran and Pakistan. sweet

Best to my friend on the blog and special Lisa, Laural, Stephanie, Claudia, Celine and Matt
Way to go, George.  I was diagnosed in January at an early stage and had laproscopic surgery in April. The oncologist recommended surgery because of my age (57). I am now cancer free and on the road to full recovery.  Thanks for sharing your story which will raise the awareness of this increasing threat to our health.
Brian, good to see you in New York this evening.  I'm sure the family's glad to have you home, too!  Enjoy your own bed!

I've never been a fan of leasing a car, for simply all the reasons people love them.  They give a person a false sense of wealth that can't be maintained because its out of the price range.  I am so very grateful that my car has been paid off for a few years and hope it continues to purr like a kitten!

I saw George Lewis on the Today Show, talking about his experience.  I'm glad to see it again on the evening broadcast.  Any person with cancer is brave to fight the fight, but to publicly share it takes a special type of fortitude.  Thank you, George.

Six service members have died in Iraq because of electrocution?  Is this some passive way of the military getting rid of veterans it can't care for when they come home?  This is just unacceptable to me!  One death from shoddy work is horrible and criminal enough; 6 of them is criminal and unconscionable.  Our service members and their families deserve better.  Where was the fire in the words and demeanor of the senate panel?  They were more angry over baseball's steroids than this.  Isn't this the ultimate in what is wrong with our country's attitude?

Energy from waste?  That would make WALL-E's job much better!  (Terrific movie, by the way!)  Seems like a fail-safe way to produce energy, since we are a nation of CONSUMERs.

Hello regular readers; have a good evening!
Mr. Williams,

Glad to see you finally touched down here in the states. One of these days you'll have to go into more detail as to how a typical broadcast is done, and then how much harder it is to do when its not a home game. Though, it was nice to see you in London with a different background than usual. Looking forward to the broadcast as usual.

As for the earthquake yesterday: I was outside at work and did not feel it. I'm still not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.
Good Evening Mr.Williams, Great to have you back in New York! Always a fine job on the broadcast! First of all the report by Lisa Myers concerning the soldiers death due to being electrocuted was simply awful. There is no excuse for that company not to be found liable for shoddy work. It is horrible enough to hear the untimely deaths of brave soldiers caused by IED'S and roadside bombs, but this is really inexcusable. And it happened before to another soldier. It is good that all the buildings are now being inspected, yet it comes far too late for someones loved one. Someone really needs to be held accountable. God Bless all our brave soldiers.
On another note hearing Mr.Lewis is battling prostate cancer was very sad to learn. I am glad he's been getting proper treatment and hopefully when he goes back this fall for tests all the cancer will be gone. He certainly has been through alot in his life and is doing well. All his exercising, jogging and water aerobics keep him active and strong. It is good there is the support group too. He will be so happy walking his daughter done the aisle on her wedding day. Keep well Mr.Lewis!
Seeing all that baggage piled up at JFK airport by American Airlines is a travelers nightmare. I should hope the fee is waived for checked baggage. I mean they owe it to the customers.
Thank you for the broadcast Mr.Williams. Try to get some much needed rest! You deserve it! Peace to you and to all!

Lots of Love to Laurel,Jackie,Stephanie,Claudia,Celine,Anna and Matt!
Be Well Always!
Stay Safe Richard!
XOXO
While watching your program concerning George Lewis 3 time award winner for journalism, there at his leg was a sign of power or something.  Hands held in fornt of youlike a small prayer is a conflict with a higher power according to Princess Diane.  A symbolic gesture on N.B.C. news with Bryan Williams?  In 1970 to 1975 we barely heard of George Lewis, now according to Aubrey White, my picture came true.
A nice broadcast tonight and a big shout out to Mr. Lewis!  Good luck with your recovery!

Here's the Olympic line up if anyone is interested from AP!

Does anyone have a favorite Olympic event they would like to share with others?  Brian, Matt, Celine, Lisa, Jackie et al?  Normand, where are you these days?  Please put me down for diving and swimming.  Then again I love gymnastics too!  Too many good sports to choose from at the Games.

Nine days to the opening ceremonies with smog, censorship, communism and victory!  Good luck team USA!

RE:  "Celebrity Ad" by McCain on OBAMA

The new McCain Ad is showing signs of DESPERATION and is going real NEGATIVE.  I have less respect for McCain.  It does nothing for him except remind us of the GOP Attach tactics repeating W. Bush's campaign.  UGLY, VOID (of substance) and the SAME Political CRAP !!!!
Mr. Williams,

Glad to see you back stateside.  Man, your passport must be worn out by now.  Besides having an awesome job of being on TV each night, it must be truly a blessing to be able to see some of the places that the rest of us cannot...I mean, the Presidential Compound in Tehran.  Truly amazing.  Bon voyage to Beijing and we can't wait to see you back safe and sound.
Welcome home.  We've missed you on our favorite news program.  It seems, however, that your producers are succombing to McCain's unsubstantiated winning of media bias. Tonight, I don't think McCain could have bought more positive news coverage from your program. When the end came and we expected to see Obama's media response to McCain's celebrity accusations, nothing was presented.

Once you're over your jet lag, please make sure your viewers get a balanced story about the presidential campaign.

Please don't be manipulated by McCain's cries of media bias.  The latests survey shows the opposite.

Many thanks for all your efforts.
I happen to think that McCain's ad is spot on! I'm from Illinois and Obama has done absolutely nothing in the State Senate and more nothing in the US Senate. I simply cannot fathom why anyone would vote for this guy!
I'll believe Obama is the candidate of change when he starts airing only ads that adhere to his stance on the issues, not just responding to McCain attacks or pointing out McCain's faults.
NPR did a story on Immigration this morning. I'm still waiting for a candidate that mentions the fact that if we did more to help the countries these people are fleeing from to have an economy strong enough to support the majority of its citizens we wouldn't have to be worried about enacting legislation regarding illegal immigrants. And I'm not saying we need to pour money into these countries. I'm talking about educating the leaders of the government and business as well as the "common man."

What great educators we are when all around us is swirling in a downward spiral because those in power chose to look the other way when fiscally irresponsible practices were taking place right under their noses.

I could go on and on.
Dear Brian,
Yesterday, I heard Andrea Mitchell doing a piece on Obama and McCain and in it she mentioned that both their mothers were from the midwest.  Ms. Mitchell incorrectly pronounced a Kansas town as El Doe-rah-doe.  Brian, the correct pronunciation {at least in Kansas} is El Doe-ray-doe. El Dorado sits in the beautiful Flinthills, about 20 miles east of Wichita. I wasn't sure who to alert regarding my little pet peeve, so I decided to go straight to the man.  Thanks for reading!  Tracie from McLouth, KS (the ou is pronounced like the ou in house, not like the oo in goose, which you probably think I am for the nit-picking, but hey, a Kansas girl has got to keep people straight!)  Love your show!
I'll believe the situation is the same either Obama or McCain will win the vote for President.the policy to Asia-pacific including China,India,Japan never chang too much......
