Easter medley

By Amy Robach, NBC News Anchor

On this Easter Sunday many along the Meramec River in Missouri are breathing a sigh of relief. Even though homes and lives have been lost and the water not yet receded, most knew it could have been worse. NBC's Ron Mott will give us the latest update on how those in the Midwest are faring on this Sunday.

Throughout the country, many are not faring well when it comes to their finances. Tonight, CNBC's Maria Bartiromo will walk us through a wild week on Wall Street. In addition, she'll offer her take on what to expect this week, as well as the potential impact on consumers' pockets.

And finally, a sign of the times: KFC plans to unveil grilled chicken at some of its restaurants in an effort to see if the grilled variety will bring health conscience consumers back through its doors. I hope you can join me this evening.

I probably won't get to see the broadcast tonight, because of the stupid golf tournament....  Anyway, a happy Easter to you!  I always enjoy your work, whether it be on Today, Nightly, or MSNBC.  Also, I have to tell you, I have a co-worker who could pass as your doppelganger!

Happy Easter to all, and to all a good night!
Hugs to Lisa, Stephanie, and Ms. Jackie!
Good Evening Amy, I had the broadcast pre-empted too in the Atlanta area. I hope you had a very Happy Easter with your family. You do a wonderful job on Weekend Today and MSNBC. I wish you were the permanent person on Weekend Today with Mr.Holt. Peace to all!

Happy Easter to all!
Hugs to you too Laurel! And to Stephanie and Jackie!
So sorry I missed you!  I'm on the East Coast and it didn't air here.  Love watching you on Today and MSNBC.  Happy Easter.
sorry brian but your host on Easter Sunday, much better looking than u. thank u
I just finished watching the NBC Evening News Western Edition which means that it started running three or four hours ago on the east coast and nobody has noticed or corrected the error in the story about the fishing boat off the coast of Alaska.

The boat sank near Dutch Harbour which is in the Alutian Islands, yet the map displalyed misplaces Dutch Harbor by about 1400 miles placing it near the correct location of Ketchikan.

It really would be nice if organizations presenting themselves as authoritative sources would spend a little effort to actually research Alaska once in a while.
Hi Amy, welcome to Brian's World and Lester on Weekends.

Today is a day to reflect will we follow the words of hope and change or will be stand together and do something ourselves.  It is a call no Military family wants to hear as we see today we have reached 4000 of our soldiers have been killed in Iraq. We also now know the United States has killed 1,191,216 innocent Iraq people. It's hard to know the truth as the numbers reported by the White House was about 60,000 people.  I prayed for all both US soldiers and Iraq people today, God doesn't discriminate.

I know prayers without actions aren't enough just as words without action are just words. Let's hope the United States will bring God back to bless us all once again.

Happy Easter to all and special wishes to Laural and Lisa and their families
Good Evening Amy, Even though my station did not broadcast Nightly News I was able to view some of the videos later in the evening. Something that was not part of your broadcast was the grim milestone of reaching 4000 brave soldiers that have been killed. I noticed the breaking news just as I was about to view the reports and it just made me feel so terrible. The report by Mr.Yang concerning President Bush and the subject of the war in Iraq being brought to the forefront seems like something that should always be at the forefront. Considering the violent attacks on the Green Zone and the terrible milestone of fallen troops makes one wonder whether it will be all worth it ultimately in the end. This conflict began one way and appears now to be a never-ending battle. I only hope someday this horrible fighting will cease between these groups and our brave men and women of the military can come home. On another note the report by Mr.Fletcher from Jerusalem concerning the pilgrims visiting the Holy Sites on Easter was very moving. I'm sure seeing these places brings about much emotion and makes one feel that peace is the ultimate answer. Also, I hope Mr.Hartle can restore his damaged home from all the flooding. Thank you for the broadcast Amy. I really hope someday peace will be the norm in this tumultuous area of the Middle East. May the troops all return home safely. Stay safe Richard!! May you someday report of peace and rebuilding. Please stay safe Richard and come home safe and sound! Peace to all!
Do all of the fact checkers have the holiday off tonight?  The map used during the update of the sinking fishing vessel in Alaska was laughable.  You had Dutch Harbor as being close to Juneau which is on the PANHANDLE of Alaska and the anchor all the while was talking about a daring rescue operation in the Bering Sea.  Your map wasn't even close to the Bering Sea since you had Dutch Harbor being on the PANHANDLE of Alaska.  Just a quick lesson - Dutch Harbor is located on the PENINSULA of Alaska and the Bering Sea is to the North.

It's hard when all of the maps have to break the state up into pieces in order to have it fit on one page but a simple double check on mapquest would have saved you some face.

Better luck next time!
It's very frustrating when a member of the mainstream media promotes bad grammar and inappropriate usage on a network website.  In the final paragraph of her Sunday post, Amy Robach informs us that, "KFC plans to unveil grilled chicken at some of it's (sic) restaurants..."  The word "it's" only takes an apostrophe when used as a contraction for "it is" or "it has".  The version of the word indicating possession does not take an apostrophe.  Amy then goes on to use the phrase "health conscience" when she should have used "health conscious".  Is it asking too much for contributors to the NBC website to employ proper grammar and usage?
I agree, Nightly News should have priority over a sporting event, even on a Sunday.
why do yall have to work on easter
Hi Amy - Welcome to Nightly News -

You'll find this blog a friendly place - Brian calls us his 'peeps' and a well-informed group of us post here.

Keep smiling.

Amy,
I'm sorry my station did not air the news on Sunday. I just want to add my sentiments that I wish you were on with Lester on Saturday and Sunday mornings.  love you on Saturdays.
Must be nice to have your loved one out of harms way and feeling free to spread propaganda and lies against the US.
As a land surveyor and an Alaskan, I was in complete dismay during your report of the coast guard rescue. Dutch Harbor and the Bering Sea are in western Alaska, not southeast. This may seem like a minor error, but with the growing use of maps and GPS in the consumer world- hello, GoogleEarth!- geographic knowledge is more accessible. You may as well have put Iraq in South America! My biggest concern out of this is that if something this verifiable is shown/told incorrectly what other information is your program, and other news programs for that matter, telling us that might be wrong and much harder to verify!

Wow -- misplacing Dutch Harbor on the map of Alaska really made you look pretty bad.  It's not anywhere near where you had it.  Dutch is half way out the Aleutian Island chain, not south of Juneau in Southeast Alaska.  Do you do any research at all?
Hope everyone had a happy Easter.  This seems like a good place to mention the following.  When I was in Desert Storm a 5th Grader sent the troops a postcard that read:  "What's Saddam Hussein backwards?  It's Insane Mad das!"  That gave me a chuckle and I feel the need to return the chuckle to that kid.  Here's the return chuckle, kid:  What's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad backwards?  It's dajeniDAMha duomHAM or Dam Pig for short!  Send this joke to the troops in Iraq, NBC!
Black Man's Issues
Commentary about American’s

The question that I need asked is why are many USA American’s more concern with the problems is of the Iraqi's and not America.

Because of issues like the privates act, many companies not only are allowed to screen potentially employees employment history, but their credit and criminal background to determent if their trustworthy. In some cases, individuals whom have bad credit or misdemeanor criminal record are denied employment, because of earlier bad decision made on their behalf.

The cost of living is up, and the rate of unemployment in many minorities’ communities is up also. This is a big problem in the corporation world, because this prevents many minorities from even attempting to look for employment, because they find it more profitable to interact in criminal activities to increase their financial standing in their
community, and assist their families and friends with the financial mention
needed to survey.

Now these are issues that many politicians should be talk about, not Iraq, excluding the troops in Iraq, because their doing their job even if their unaware of the circumstance why.

Thanks You

at the at the Church whenI feel MSNBC is very unfair and bias against Senator Obama.  She has lied outright about being in Bosnia and on gettinig off the plane being in sniper fire.  Notwithstanding, the news have filed to report that  account of her being caught in a lie.  The news would rather focus on her response at this late date on Jeremiah Wright.  Obama is not responsible for what his pastor says.  He would never say anything like that.  He has denounced and rejected.  What else do you want him to do?
