Life on the trail

By Mark Hudspeth, NBC News producer

Editor's note: Mark Hudspeth is on the campaign trail with NBC's Lee Cowan, whose report on how the candidates keep going... and going... and going airs tonight on the broadcast.

I certainly wasn't the first person who had found himself sitting in church on a Sunday morning regretting a long night in Vegas. But even so, last Sunday seemed strangely unique.

I was unsuccessfully trying not to yawn, crammed in a small section of the balcony of Ebenezer Baptist Church with several dozen sleep-deprived journalists and Barack Obama campaign press aides. Most of us had spent nearly every waking hour of our 18-to-22 hour days together for more than three weeks, and had rushed to catch an overnight press charter just hours after the finding out the results of the Nevada Caucus. It was the only way to get to Atlanta in time to see Obama address the home church of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the eve of the holiday created in King's honor.

It seems like such a long time ago. I can't believe it hasn't even been a week. Lee Cowan and I have been on the road covering the Obama campaign since Christmas Day. We were on and off the trail sporadically for a few weeks before that and there are quite a few who have been out longer than that. And as the campaign reaches fever pitch leading up to the February 5th contests, it's not just the candidates, but those of us who follow their every move, who are slowly starting to realize that the frenetic pace we've been keeping is nowhere near finished. And like them we have to dig deep to keep going.

I don't know why I didn't go right to sleep on that flight from Las Vegas to Atlanta. It would have been such a nice long stretch of the REM sleep that's been in such short supply lately. That's actually not true. I do know why: a plane full of reporters covering the same story, all of whom just made both a deadline and a flight by the skin of their teeth can be a pretty lively group. We spent most of the flight chattering about the nuances of the delegate/popular vote split, speculating about whether it had been a mistake for Obama to go home to Chicago rather than stay and react to the results (maybe we were just jealous that he was doing what we all wanted to do), and commiserating about the challenges of working for East Coast news organizations while out west (my alarm to get up and do the Today Show that morning had gone off at 2a.m.).

Most of us in the balcony last Sunday had been on a similar flight to New Hampshire just hours after Obama delivered his victory speech the night of the Iowa Caucus, and will probably do it again a few hours after the polls close in South Carolina this Saturday-–regardless of the outcome.

Days on the trail seem eerily similar, yet all are different. From state to state and city to city, the candidate's speeches -- much like the floral pattern on the buses that carry us from event to event -- are mostly the same. From the early morning bag call to late night events timed for the 11p.m. local news, our day becomes mostly a search for those small departures from that sameness that become the day's news. That and the AC power we need to charge the laptops, Blackberrys, cell phones, and cameras we use to tell those stories.

Sometimes the campaign does what it can to help us fight the inevitable fatigue, like usually they have Red Bull energy drink on the bus. But sometimes they don't, like today when they scheduled a roundtable with voters right after a conference call on economic policy.

But the fatigue is always short lived, because soon enough one of those small departures hits you like cold water in the face and it's like a whole new day. And there's going to be a lot of new days before this race is settled. And until then I have no intention of missing any of them.

The Clintons have no shame. One would have thought that they would retire from national politics. After Bill's 8 years in office engaging in self seeking ventures, taking away American jobs to Mexico with NAFTA,denying the poor of America-social welfare and immoral behaviour in the White House, they are engaging in the worst form of deceit, halftruths, lies and yes - subtle racism against Obama.Americans need to study the issues and make objective decisions. Do we need another Georg Bush in the form of Bill and Hillary Clinton who like Bush are capable of declaring war based on lies and concealing information and indulging in gutter political actions
towards anyone who dare oppose them.Lies and half truths have caused the lives of young Americans and misery to their their families, or do we need CHANGE in Washington and peace and properity in America?Did Bill Clinton or George Bush have experience in the Presidency in their first term? Will Hillary have experience if she wins? You can only get experience in the Presidency in the first term only when you become President. AMERICA NEED TO GIVE CHANGE A CHANCE. Or Perhaps we don't want a President who is half white/half black and will settle for anyone once
they are white? or am I wrong.
Can't we just all get along!! I supported Bill clinton during his run and was undecided now but due to him getting involved with this campaign I support Obama. It says a lot about him if he has to take on Former President and his wife. Besides we know what the Clinton's will do, and we know the mess were in, so lets go in a totally different direction and give Obama a chance for "Change". Experience or not he can't be any worst than Bush.
Its time for Billary to go. They have served their time. Plus, she talked about Barack and Rezko being linked. A picture of Billary and Rezko during his presidency has surfaced. Now, the media is looking to see if Rezko gave money to the Clintonites during his presidency. This has to be very emberassing for her.
Life on the Trail commentary:Mark - interesting story about your experiences, tiredness, and finding yourself sitting in Ebenezer Baptist Church last Sunday morning....well, honestly, I thought your story would segue into Obama's speech that morning; possibly that it woke you up, or stirred you as it did many people. Again, I thought this was about a Presidential candidate - that's the story we want to see!
What I don't understand is the fact that Barack Hussein Obama can even be close.  He represents change. He will be the first muslin, (oops I don't know his religion for this week) to ever be President of the United States.  He is black when he needs the black votes.  He is not black the rest of the time. Doesn't that make you think of Tiger Woods?

How on earth can you people watch the US swear in a President named Barack Hussein Obama.  That is his real name. I am not for sure that I am for Hillary, but there is no way I would ever consider voting for BARACK HUSSEIN OSAMA  Oops, OBAMA.
Barrack Obama is "The One"  Believe it or not...He is "The One"   I wish America as well as the rest of the world could see it or shall I say "Allow themselves to see it.  He is the only one that can unite this country.  Should the Clintons or anyone else win the Presidency, our country will be far more divided than it is now.  We will still be hated by many of the other countries who were once our friends.

Barrack Obama is "The One"  Its been over 35 years since our country has had such a great opportunity...a great gift.  He is "The One!"
The only thing Hillary knows how to do is play political games to hold power. Just look at some of the major issues she's tackled.

Healthcare....She choked. She couldn't get support from across the isle and instead of making some gains we ended up with virtually nothing.

Economy....She thought NAFTA was a good idea when her husband rammed it down our throats. Sure the Clintons gave us 1000's of low paying jobs but we've seen the truly good jobs of this country get shipped over seas because of "free" trade

Iraq...She vote to authorize war! Don't tell me that she didn't understand that Bush was ready to send troops in as soon as he was given the authority. She didn't have to read the National Intelligence Report to know that the Bush Administration was feeding us lies. There were 1000's of people protesting in DC that knew it was all lies, the information was out there. I should know, I was there, I knew the truth and I don't have access to intelligence reports. Yet she never listened to anyone and made a political choice to support the war, not an educated one.

There you have it folks. The big three topics of this election and there is clear proof that Hillary has NO insight. No vision for what is best.

How can the republicans claim to be the party of change when all of their candidates are running on 'staying the course.' They are reluctant to invoke the name of George Bush because present economy, 4,000 deaths, and tens of thousand of injuries in Iraq are good indicators of where this republican course has taken the country. America has been sold to foreign interests with no vision from the republican candidates to do anything about it. Look at who is running! Is this the very best they can do? On the other hand, if Billary wins the democratic nomination, you can bet that we will relive all of the scandals of the Clinton White House. This certainly isn't change. It would be  suicide for the democratic party. They should never be elected again! We can and must do better! I am a democrat who will vote for anyone but Billary. Presently, I choose Sen. Obama in spite of the Karl Rove initiatives being unleashed upon him by the Clinton machine. I see an Obama/Edwards ticket as a new course for a prospers America and an instant reinstatement of America as the nation at the top of world leadership. I am not a part of Hillary's "right-wing conspiracy," and I believe that Bill did "have sex with that woman."
Listen up...the media is running by big corporates and they have strong support for the republicans. Remember John Kerry's swift boat"?  Their mission is to elect another republican president so they go after the strongest democrat candidate, Hilary Clinton. Their "best polical team" has one mission: bashing our best candidate, Hilary Clinton. Why? because they know Hilary is the most experienced of the bunch and none of the republicains will be able to beat her.
Don't fall into their trap again or we will have another 8 years of doom.
Obama will get his chance after Hilary than we'll have 16years of prosperity and respect of the world.
Wow !!! What does our country really represent;  people who have not all been perfect. We seem to be harshly critical of each person that is running; we tear at their souls. Certainly none of us are without flaws. I really think that the issue with Sen. Obama is not his experience but those that say that have a real issue of racism that they don't want to admit to so they use other reasons to disqualify him. Let it be known to all the world Pres. Bush was not qualified by his experience either, but with his family's history of politics, power and money. To my fellow countreman and to this nation get ready for change in the way things have gone. Sen. Obama is our next President of these United State. Except him as a man and not the his color. Be honest and search your heart, God knows it!!!
am nigerian but my brother is an american doctor,so is his wife.about six months ago,we spoke about barack an he was sure barack wouldnt win and that he will be voting for hillary.
However, two months ago,he was in nigeria and he brought with him- The audacity of hope.I called him in Charlotte NC after the ohio win and he was like yea i told siadat(his wife)that u'l be happy barack won.i told him to vote for barack and again he was like lets c how it goes.he's changing his mind cos he's more informed. The more ppl know about barack, the more they love him.
barack rocks- everybody loves him worldwide!!

I'm a white male democrat that strongly supports Barack Obama because of the fact that he wants to bring all parties together (democrat, republican, independent) and get ideas from all people to start solving problems in America. (THATS THE ONLY WAY THINGS WILL EVER GET DONE!!!!!!) Not to mention he is one of the most inspiring people in America who could give one hell of a speech. Could you imagine the State of The Union address with a Barack Obama?!! AMAZING!

Hillary has a lot of ideas and plans to get things done but how is she going to do that without the support of some republicans? Also, how does she plan on winning the general election when all of the Barack Obama supporters stay home and has no way of uniting independents and republicans to her camp?
It would be a republican landslide victory!
Every time I hear the name “Clinton” I cringe and think of partisan politics!  Hilary may say that she can get things done but if she cannot unite then she will go nowhere.  In my opinion if Obama is nominated, then he will unite the country and take the presidency.  If Hilary is nominated then the Republican Party will have a reason to mobilize and their powerhouse will win the presidency!  I have no doubt about that!  Hell I am a moderate Republican.  Even Obama has won me over!  Even though I don’t agree with some of his policies I think he is Perfect person for the presidency.  It just shows how he can bridge gaps and bring both parties together so we can make a difference!  If we go back to Clinton politics NOTHING will get done because both parties will hate each other!  The only real reason she is ahead nationally is because of her name recognition (and that’s a fact).  Once people hear and see what Obama has to say they quickly switch over to Obama!
The space around Obama is electric because he has brought energy, truth, and hope to us. Stay tuned, boys, there is hope enough for all of us!

I wonder when the pollsters will call folks like me, life long democrats, who will STAY HOME IN NOVEMBER if she gets the nomination.  She is, for sure, the GOP's best friend right now.

Time for a real regime change. Let's make it happen out there like we did in Iowa!
I would like Sen. Obama to get the Democratic nomination. WE THE PEOPLE need to do all we can to make that happen. The results from New Hampshire had me wondering about the ongoing corruption in politics. The GOOD people of this country and the world NEED a president with the qualities that Barack Obama has!
The time is now, we have had kennedy, clinton bill a different person than the present opponent. Obama if people listen is the clear choice for this country. the last eight years have been a well a ? Let's not get caught in the Race / Gender debate and have another election stolen. This is what the representative from the USA should stand for not just talk about to the rest of the world.
I am a white, male Republican who is changing registration to Democrat in order to vote for Sen Obama.  It is conceivable that Sen Clinton could win--my party has done so much to make it easy for a Democratic candidate this time--but those who cite Sen Clinton as more electable than Sen Obama frankly astonish me.  My party is fracturing (witness the nomination process with multiple factions)--but the prospect of Sen Clinton becoming President and bringing Pres Clinton back to the White House is almost the only way to force the Republicans to unite and fight.  If the intent is to fight a bloody battle for a "50%+1" Karl Rove-style "victory" (and incidentally strengthening Republican congressional candidates through higher turnout) only to preside over a bitterly divided nation--well, that's a choice.  If the objective is to go for a transformational majority as well as helping reunite a nation in crisis on several fronts, Sen Obama is the logical choice.
Another way of gaming this is to assume the Republicans put up their strongest general election candidate (Sen McCain).  If the Republicans are smart enough to nominate Sen McCain, I think Sen Clinton loses on the integrity, straight talking factor.  Clinton/Bush fatigue cancels out a lot of the newness of electing a woman President, and Sen McCain is noted for breaking with his party and being a positive voice for congenial bipartisanship.
Sen Obama vs Sen McCain is a classic "change vs. Experience" contrast, but given previous history (Nixon-Kennedy, Dole-Clinton) that's not a prospect that should bother Democrats.
To Mary in Petaluma CA--the "present" issue is a classic triviality blown into a major item by deliberate twisting/half-truths (a political specialty the Clintons are unusually good at).  In only a couple of those cases could one make the case Sen Obama was "ducking"--and in far more cases, he was following an accepted procedure to register concerns about a bill he did not want stopped (often at the request of the bill's sponsors).
Bottom line--if you want to attract Republicans like me, nominate Sen Obama.  If you want to force the disunited Republicans to unify and fight tooth and nail against a "Clinton Restoration" (and have whoever won preside over a bitter, angrily divided nation), nominate Sen Obama.
Never thought I'd consider voting republican, but if Hil is the democratic nominee I will enter the booth and cast my ballot for a republican.  She is the best thing that could happen to the republicans...they know they can beat her.  Obama is our only real choice and for once that's not a bad thing.
How is she demonized for being a woman? Please elaborate!!! I have not read any of their histories, but as a black color-blind male will prefer Clinton over Obama because she has more real experience. But even so, any of the two will do a good job provided they select the right people to assist them, and not make individual blunder decisions like what some of our current president have done and led to a lot of resignations during his campaign..

That said, if the American people are crazy enough to go for another Republican, and if money really talks, Romney will win it over McCain. And I just pray anyone that wins it will start to bring this country back to fiscal health firstly and stop wasting money on unnecessary war and private interests or else, much worse is going to come
To Darlene Brewer: You aren't elgible to run for president unless you are a natural born citizen jus ask Arnold S. (governor of Calif)
America I implore you let's vote for the candidate who is interested in uniting our country. Vote Obama. I wish that all America had the audacity to hope; hope for a better America; hope for a change in the same old politics; hope for a "United" States of America. I challenge eveyone to read the webpages of all candidates before making a decision; don't vote based on race gender or emotion but on who will unite the country, who will bring about change. If you accept this challenge I am sure you will vote for Obama. Now don't be a coward, afraid of the truth, go ahead read those website and then vote... Obama 2008
I love that all of the Hillary supporters posting in this forum snidely accuse Obama-nites of "sexism," or a lack of political awareness. Hillary's speeches and policies fail to impress me. It's all so base: her words, her style of campaigning... She revels in trite sound bites and mud-slinging. Obama for most of this race has tried to transcend pithy exchanges, but she eggs him on until he has no choice but to defend himself. This country's unwavering support of the Clintons disturbs me. I wouldn't put it past the stupid masses to vote her into the nomination--even if the Clintons have mountains of baggage and Hillary has alienated Republicans and Independents too much to either easily win the general election or to bring about real change. Thank you, Senator Obama, for believing in this country; it's hard for me to do so right now.

As a biracial American citizen, I've marvelled at the heinous racism still gripping this country, at the narrow-mindedness whicn will ultimately paralyze us. It makes me ashamed.

And the worst part of if it is: all my friends think Hillary's a decent alternative to Barack. "Oh, she wouldn't be THAT bad..."

Oh, yes, she would be.

Obama '08
I feel that we need Hillary and Bill, because of experience and the knowledge of how to go about running the office of The United States President.  Now is not the time to put someone without the correct knowledge in the this position. Our Country is in desperate need of help and they are the ones who can do it. NOT SOMEONE WITHOUT EXPERIENCE!!
These reporters like to lament their tough life but they should think of the volunteers who are not getting paid but they are getting up earlier then them to stock the bus or the van with the Red Bulls and bottled water get to the rendezvous point and working till they drop these bitchy little reporters back at the hotel to go to bed for the night.
Vivian from Largo, MD brings up a good point. Obama is not only running for change, but has, in certain ways, already sparked change. He's changing, on a bi-partisan basis, the way we view politicians and politicians view themselves. I, like Vivian, found it interesting that Romney pulled a phrase straight from an Obama stump speech in attempt to carry the "change" mantle. Even, Hillary, whose campaign slogan used to be "Ready to Lead" saw the resonance of Barak's message and changed it to "Ready For Change. Ready to Lead." If Obama's ability to change the discourse and overall face of this election is any indication of the extent to which his presidency would change the way Washington operates, I think we owe it to ourselves and our country to cast a vote in his favor.
As I read through this blog I know deep down inside that this country is ready for a leader like we've never seen before. This man Obama, can not only change this country he can help to change the world. I hope that everyone will read the article by George Packer of the New Yorker call The Choice. This in dept article says it all. There really is only one choice http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008/01/28/080128fa_fact_packer?currentPage=7
I'm an eighty year old woman.  Your message of united
people and hope for America to return to honest values. Take greed out of government by remembering the middle and lower people's needs.
Ruth, California

I'm 52 and have voted conservatively for many years now.
What our country is experiencing now is more than attraction or spin - even those covering this quietly realize this.  It's about solid and clear positions that will give America that much needed "staying power" in a relatively small world.  Wtih the leadeship of Barack Obama, all of America will have the opportunity to benefit - for that matter, the world will benefit.
I was in favor of Hilary being the first woman president, I am now giving my full support to Obama for president of the United States, I believe that Obama can unite all races their ,are many different races who love each other for who they are ,as human beings and for no other reasons, that they are just wonderful human beings, I have learnt that its ok to love people from different races .It does take all human beings from all walks of life to make this world a beautiful place .The Clintons have had their opportunites ,is it so wrong for a minority to have an opportunity to give great service to their country. We should allow everyone who is qualified for the job an opportunity, regardless of their race.Love makes the world go round and in the end no matter what occurs love will not be conquered no matter what color it comes in.

San things is people are contineously calling Obama a African American candidate. People get a life, this guy have a white mother and a black father. How can Obaama's father gave birth to this man without a mother? Are we saying that any child born between a black man or woman with different race is automatically black? This guy embodied the image of our America, the rainbow nation.
To M Dohring:

"His mother is white American,, but one never sees her in any campaign."  Darling, Senator Obama's mother died of cancer.  Yes, his father was African but Obama was not raised Muslim.

People, take responsibility and go to the source instead of accepting the smear information that the Clintons and their cronies are distributing.

For the first time, I am helping support a candidate with a little money and hours of volunteering.  Our supporters and volunteers are very diverse in age, gender, and ethnicity.  Obama is worth it, our country needs him to unite us and help us turn a new page.  Get involved, join us!
What's most impressive about Barack Obama to me is his ability to inspire young people to not only think, but to act.  I've been following the campaign from the beginning and know that the word change was not used until Obama used it.  But the copy cats haven't got a clue as to what change means, especially what it means in the Obama camp.  It means youth.  Not Hillary's 35 years experience, nor McCain's heroism can bring about the change young people can.  Personally, I like the fact that if Obama wins, he will beholden to young people the way the old schoolers are indebted to lobbyists and big corporate donors.   I'm hoping that an Obama win will encourage some of his young supporters to run for office and put some fresh new faces and ideas in Congress.  So, young people.  You do it.  Make the change.  Get Obama elected.  Don't allow the Clintons or the the media to marginalize the only power you have in America, the right to vote.  If all you who can vote do, you will have the power.  The power you get in numbers.  That's how you make change.
To M. Dohring, NC

Maybe the reason you haven't seen Obama's mother on the campaign trail is because she passed away from cancer. But she is there in spirit  Do your research before you make any furhter comments.
Perhaps if the Clintons took some time to review tapes showing what Americans were forced to endure during the previous Bill and Hillary White House years, they would stop grinning and yapping like two Saturday night regulars at the pool hall. Wasn't that guy impeached?
Let's get real folks and stop the arguing over who is better- Hillary or Obama. The real debate should be who is ELECTABLE. The Republicans are chomping at the bits to run against Hillary, so if anything, Republicans voting in Dem primaries are voting for Hillary, NOT Obama.  They know she will not be viable in a general election. Every poll indicates that almost 50%  of the country would vote for anyone other than Hillary. Plus, the polls indicate something I have been saying for a year, if McCain gets the nomination he will win over Hillary. The only Dem who can stop McCain is Obama. Cross-over voters will vote for Obama, not Hillary.  Our best shot at the White House is Obama. But, for those of you who are willing to gamble on the White House, go ahead and vote for Hillary.  You will rue the day.
To darlene brewer...

you MUST be a natural citizen of the US to be the president of the united states-- this is why Arnold could never run for President.
What this country needs is a leader that fights for what right and speaks the truth. We do not need a person who spends money ,but one that fixes the falling economy.Out of these canidates who is the true leader fit enough to lead a country
I like to look at the big picture/long term...the best candidate that could possibly have a profound impact on America at this stage of her existence is undoubtedly Senator BARACK OBAMA. A breathe of fresh promise and optimism, with a rejuvinating jolt of pride, in country I fight for on a daily basis. AMERICA!!!..seize the moment.
I am an american living in Brazil, and the only reason that I am moving back to the states is because I finally have hope that the USA can change for the better.  Vote for Obama.  Nuff said.
I like what the Lady Vivian said, she has a true fact that we should not miss. Lets not be foolish people and think about our future and our kids future. Obama is a strong man with his speech, faith and vision. He has the wisdom of true wise people. He is not two-faced like most politics. I Vote For Obama, we all have CHOICES but what will happen when we make our choices. VOTE FOR OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!
Caleb - Obama was never a muslim. being around it and being one is two different things. Sharon Loveland - If you don't have a vision you can't see the true possibilities. We know the possibilities with the clinton's. You have obviously forgotten. I'll take my chances w/ Obama. Ling - What we do know is that the clintons are like a festering cancer, he's (Bill) been treated once (IMPEACHMENT) and now he's  back again. And this time it's not just cancer, it's BILLARY and it needs to be eraticated. Mary, Petaluma - I believe that he didn't vote because he didn't agree with most of what was being presented and if you look at the state of the union, it's obvious that there is a lot of B.S. we are being asked to swallow. I wouldn't vote just to say I voted as a course of action. Give me something meaningful or I would just be present also. Why put your name on something you don't believe in? Huh? People, I guess impeachment means nothing to you and I'm glad and HOPE you-all are not running for any kind of office. Please. My plastic butter knife is sharper than you folks. I'm serious!!!!!!!!!! OBAMA ALL THE WAY, YES '08'
The Republicans want to sink black's ship. The Clinton's have only rearranged the deck chairs to make blacks more compfortable on the way down. We are very intelligent people and we proved that in S.C.  Come on give me a break. We see through these here clintons. Change means just that. And Clinton ain't change baby. Oh, Billary, you can also take your friend Bob Johnson to the nearest high level bridge. Might want to teach him how to hit the water. He is no friend of our's. We need BET. (better entertainment television)!
john doe memphis,TN - You never know. While you are obviously troubled and confused, you never know, someday one of these type of people with that type of name and that type of color may save you or a family members life.  How petty, little-minded and misled you are.I won't waste another key stroke on you myself. You are a DUMB MAN!
I believe the message of hope and change for American is so relevant and timely. Even though i am not an American i felt in my spirit that it is time for something new and different to replace to old rhetorics of the politics that dominate this wonderful country for so many years. The time has come to transcend the racial divide and push for  hormony and objectivety, to bring back this country to its rightful position;-as it relates to its influence on the world.
I congratulate Sen. Obama on this brilliant and fierceful move to stand in the heat of all the critics and defend what he believes in, my prayer and best wishes be with you as you relentlessly fulfill the dreams of our fore fathers. God bless
Why is it that some Americans feel the need to have certain Americans in a leadership role?  I, as an American adult, at the age of 68 is just feeling the American dream.  I am a PhD candidate, expecting to graduate in the near future.

Do you want for your children, love ones or friends, to wait for equal rights, as an American citizen?  I voted in the South Carolina preference primary for Senator Barack Obama.  I will continue to support his candidacy for the President of the United States of America.
THE FUTURE IS NOW!!
Ive been objectively following the candidates for over a year now, and certainly have paid more attention to Senator Obama, initially because of the intrigue, but presently because I know that he is what the world needs. Not just America, the world. Obama is not afraid of that good old word: Diplomacy. He will Keep the borders safe, provide affordable healthcare, fix this mess of an economy that the boy Bush created...but Obama will fight terrorism at the root: Hearts and Minds in Peace time. Something is going on here people...people are strapping bombs to their chests...Obama can change their minds...make 'em listen a little bit.

Hillary still has a marriage to fix. Let her do it on her own time.
Am not an American, but as one that believe in God's timing and truth, I have seen that many in USA are trying to resist a change which its time has come. Americans should please regain their global leadreship position by voting Obama not only as Domocrat candidate but as the next USA President.

Talking of race God himself plan it that Obama is half black and half white. So no excuse.
I'm really tired of hearing people spit out the Clinton line about "experience". What experience?  Are you suggesting that her time as First Lady qualifies for "experience"? Her one effort to facilitate change (her health care plan) was chewed up and spit out...she couldn't even get her foot in the door on that).  Prior to the White House, she was First Lady of Arkansas, and what did she do...she worked for a law firm so mired in big business that it almost got her a criminal charge. So let's talk about her experience, her term in the Senate...that I will give her for "experience". Now let's look at Obama, instead of doing what Hillary did with her Ivy League education, he went back to the streets of Chicago and worked at the grass roots level to HELP the people most needing help. THEN he went to the Senate, and by all measures, has made a name for himself as a junior senator.  FOR THOSE OF YOU SPOUTING THE "EXPERIENCE" LINE, YOU ARE CONFUSING "EXPERIENCE" FOR FAMILIARITY.  BIG DIFFERENCE.
From Newsweek article:
"Bill's Dubai connection is potentially problematic for Hillary. Two years ago, the New York senator denounced the Bush administration when it failed to block a deal that would have handed over operations of six major U.S. ports to Dubai Ports World, a firm owned by the government of the United Arab Emirates. (The company eventually withdrew its bid.) This month, Hillary criticized oil-rich foreign governments that use "huge pools of money" to buy up stakes in major U.S. financial institutions. That's a good applause line—but a tough one to deliver with a straight face while her husband has a business partnership with a similar foreign fund. Mark Saylor, a U.S. spokesman for Dubai, tells NEWSWEEK that neither Dubai nor Maktoum would comment on their dealings with Bill Clinton."
